Who Remembers High School Rectangle Pizza?

I was in K-12 school during the 70s and 80s. I loved that school rectangle pizza and would gleefully eat it now if I was served it. My father was military and I moved a lot leading to me trying the rectangle school pizza across the nation. It was always the same no matter where I went.

Never did like the school lunch rectangle pizza, however, I did love the Bosco sticks!

There is a side of me that loves raggedy food. Like I don't really care for premium ice cream, I was raised on 'Lucerne' brand and most of what we had and shopped for was on the generic isle; aka 'Reaganomics'.

My mother being recently divorced and raising 4 children it wasn't easy. She struggled for years and we were a welfare/Section 8 family up until I was a sophomore in highschool.

So when it comes to food, a lot of the tasty, rich stuff is great. However, given a choice, I'd prefer the lower grade options. 🤷🏾‍♂️ I know, I'm a kook.. so what, lol.

This pizza was the bomb, sorry to all the aficionado's/haters, but we likes what we likes.🤷🏾‍♂️

I looked forward to the days they served it and I wish I could actually find the original recipe.

I'd agree with that. Whole milk motz delivers every time. This is usually what I make at home with my Provel.

That is the cheese that imo’s pizza in st louis most popular pizza chain uses. Im confused as to why people would eat highly processed food. Now, if it’s a monetary thing. Ok. Different conversation, I get it. But otherwise.... Wow. If I was a surgeon I would have stock in imo’s pizza.

If I can get it yeah. But any low moisture whole milk motz will deliver the goods. the low moisture provides a higher heat tolerance and doesn't turn yer pizza orange unless u overcook it.
