Disable Smart Stay

I have a Huawei P30 and there is always an eye icon at the top of my screen.

The official reason for this is that the phone turns its camera on to see if there is a face watching the screen so you don't suffer the indignity of the phone locking itself after a predetermined amount of time.


I have followed online instructions but I can't find the smart stay option to disable it.


Please help.

I guess you can only disable the icon not the function.

To Either enable or disable the flashing eye icon
From the Home screen, select on the App menu.
Select on Settings.
Tap on “Display.”
Browse and select on “Smart Stay.”
From here you can either enable or disable the flashing eye icon.

Thanks Gortex, I appreciate the effort.

I tried following the same advice.

There is no "smart stay" when I go into display.

And disabling only the icon and not the function does not help me.

Back in the day when I had a 286 I was under the illusion that I understood technology.

Now I won't even pretend.

Even if you disable the icon, the nsa and China are both still watching.

I use tape over the camera.

Get rid of it. I had to...perfectly good but widely unsafe as a prod.

Hawaii has internal commands on spying, hearing, seeing and clicks.

It gets nasty when you think of how many unchangeable phish and finders and recorders are permanent within.

You turn comp on-1st phase
You go to your browser-2nd phase
Browser goes thru server-3rd phase
Server sends thru towers-4 phase
Towers send to your closest
Closest send to you

You cannot remove every sign on, sign in, open tabs...it gets really, really deep with linkages.

No one gets out alive.....

You know, I was gonna mention this to ATS'rs.

Go pick 5 items from every room of yours. See where each of the 5, in each room, on each floor including garage, car etc....come from.

Now! How many of those....are NOT made in China, Korea, Pakistan?

Many Amazon products....are made in China

Everybody? Go CK your household products for the above countries.

I'll wait.........

A piece of electrical tape to the lens usually solves that problem.
