According to Life Site News, the 2020 presidential hopeful said that despite her previous crack down on sex work when she was California’s Attorney General, she would like to see prostitution – between two consenting adults – decriminalized.
“When you are talking about consenting adults, I think that, you know... yes. We should really consider that we can’t criminalize consensual behavior as long as no one is being harmed.”

Let's not get into the nasty bits of this, and focus on the legality.

I'm all for it. I grew up in countries where it was legal and it sure seemed to be fine.
Let's not kid ourselves either, legal or not people will do it. I personally think it will benefit women & may
possibly stop some human trafficking's.

Absolutely.

If folks can get fxed every way they don't want to be for profit, they should be able to get fxed for profit and enjoyment.

Why are so many people against it?

I seriously wonder. They claim morality, but we all know
it is happening.

Legalized and taxed like the rest of us, same as drugs legalized and taxed

would reduce prison numbers, make more people self employed

who in this day and age is really against legalization?

Yes! Legalize prostitition between consenting adults and make them pay taxes and get tested regularly.

It's way more complicated than that, but I personally think it's ridiculous that consenting adults can't legally participate in sex work.

Misplaced morality springs to mind.

Religion also plays its part aka The Holy Roman Church of St Peter depictions of Mary Magdalene being a prostitute.

Yes. No reason it is illegal.

Pimping should be illegal. Women should be able to work as a contractor / employee at brothel. Should be registered / tested. Nevada seems to make it work.

To be clear, street walking crackheads prostituting themselves should remain illegal.

True story, I almost hit a crackhead prostitute walking barefoot in the middle of the highway!

I’d say religion.

Of which most are moral in name only.

Kind of a self righteous thing.

That is indeed the case in some nations or at least areas within such.

It is crazy that prostitution is illegal... but then if you film the act and say it is a movie, it is perfectly fine. Or buy a chick some lobster and steak hoping to get a little nookie, it is a just a "date".

It really is a practice that has been around since the beginning of time, and in most places is not on the top of the list for prosecution.

In some places the police cannot arrest prostitutes under a certain age. So in most places they kind of a turn a blind eye to the situation, unless something else is also going on.

Unfortunately, this also means turning a blind eye to abuse, human trafficking, and other criminal acts.

Maybe legalization and regulation is not a bad thing, if it would mean controlling the transmission of diseases and the prevention of more serious crimes, and illnesses.

I don’t want to go off on a religious rant — but, they are the biggest hypocrites in the universe.

Sex is a natural biological function. Denying people sex is what is unnatural.

Hoping and expecting are two different mindsets.

If two (or more) consenting adults want to conduct a business transaction that harms no one while behind closed doors, it's none of my business. Legislating morality hasn't really worked out very well historically.

Are you going to test him out first like most pimps do?
