I can not disagree with this. Maybe it shows some of the fundamental differences between the 2 parties.
Or maybe it's just changing, evolving values between then and now.

Today's "take 'er nice n' easy" take:

Three years from now:

A: "I can't believe I voted for Biden. He's such a terrible president! He's such a liar, and he's screwing us over! The economy is bad. Taxes are too damn high. Wages don't match inflation."

B: "At least he's not Trump."

A: "You got that right. Eff Trump."

C: "Hopefully Biden gets removed soon so we can finally have a good president. I was just a kid at the time, so I don't remember Bush, but my parents said that Obama was the best President ever. But we need a good president again. Black and a woman. 'Joe needs to go' Harris would be a better president. And yeah Nancy is like 100 years old now, but she would be the perfect Vice President."
