Dear ATS Readers, Writers,

Kind of says it all for those wanting a mail in ballot for 2020 election....

Roughly 21% of votes did not get counted...

More Than 84,000 Mail In Ballots Disqualified In New York City Primary

If this is foreshadowing for the national election, November could wind up being total chaos.

Mail in ballots belonging to more than 84,000 Democrats in New York City who were seeking to vote in the presidential primary were disqualified according to newly released data from the Board of Elections.

According to the NY Post, the city received 403,103 mail in ballots for the June 23 Democratic primary and the certified results on Wednesday confirmed that only 318,995 of these ballots were counted.

The 84,108 ballots that were not counted represented 21% of the total mail-in ballots.

Put this on a national scale... debacle, disaster, invalid, worthless; and total waste of money...

Did you read the article? It was Democrats whose ballots were invalidated because A) The USPS delivered some too late, B) The USPS failed to put a post mark on some of them, and C) The envelope was designed so poorly that some voters couldn't figure out where to sign.

Where's the evidence of cheating?

It's like I said before in another post. If it's safe enough for people to go out shopping with masks on, then why isn't it safe enough for people to go and vote with masks on.

The OP was obviously pointing out how flawed mail in voting is, not that democrats cheated in.theor own vote.

Mail-in voting provides the perfect climate for cheating.

And many have and will continue to capitalize on that vulnerability.

Too many don't like our country, our processes.

They want to cheat to intall people of their anti-American ideology so that they can forever eliminate the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

The USPS has 500,000 employess, represented by 7 different unions. Their operating budget is insane. They have established something like 40,000 zip codes to facilitate deliveries. They have over 30,000 retail post offices. They're everywhere.
But they were still "woefully unprepared" to handle those balllots. Standard Operating Procedure for the gubment!

Dear ATS Readers, Writers,

Greetings Philbert.... you get an "A+" in general mathematics!

If a national vote by mail in were to take place, the same debacle could/should be expected.
That is the point of the OP.... it isn't saying you would get the same percentage tossed out. The amount that would surely get tossed out will vary wildly from area to area.

And will depend on who is "counting those votes".... (Reminds me of a quote by USSR's Stalin...HA!)

I didn't mention, it is my understanding that in at least a couple dozen states, a mail in vote would be illegal. They require photo Id etc, to vote.

At best, it would be "weeks" before you got the final tally...

What happens in between? More riots? More DC melodrama?

Even if the vote occurs by normal means, the losing side isn't going to accept the results...

Bring on a total mail in ballot and it is basically guaranteed people won't accept the results.

But, then again, that might be what the "agents of chaos" want!

Thanks to the virus, it certainly promises to be a giant steaming pile of......... controversy...

This kind of thing could distort voting tallies on both sides, both Democrat and Republican. I have no problem with these, but must say, they need to bring this on gradually, it will not work if increased this fast. Not only fraud will be occurring, also many mistakes. They need to feed these ballots into a machine, if you go in person, sometimes you have to go back and fill in the oval circle again or it kicks it out. What happens if you aren't there to fill in the circle, the ballot must not be filled in by the workers there, just rejected.

We need to work on a better way, this jump into high numbers of mail in voters is not going to work well.

The one thing to keep in mind is that some states are won by tens of thousands of votes, so that amount of errors / miscounting could swing an election.

For example, I think Trump won Michigan by 80,000 votes. There are congressional races that are won by less than 5,000 votes.

It is simply not acceptable to have that large of an error rate for something so important.

The USPS is implementing a huge shake-up of top executives, due to losing $2.2 Billion in just the 2nd quarter of this year.

It would be interesting to see what expenses are the highest for the USPS.

The Postmaster General testified to Congress (the US House) a couple days ago. He told them to quit whining about mail delays, and do something to shore up the system.

Are mail delays really bad where you live? Congress seems to think they're bad all over the country.

Here's another thing to look out for with vote by mail. Who does the postal unions endorse? Depending on who they support, could just decide how many votes get counted.

Mail in ballots is about uncertainty. If the election is contested and there are no results, Nancy Pelosi becomes president.

The words president elect appear four times in the Constitution, and they didn't appear until 1933, when the Twentieth Amendment, which contained a provision addressing the unavailability of the president elect to take the oath of office on Inauguration Day, was ratified.[1] Section 3 provides that if there is no president-elect on January 20, or the president-elect "fails to qualify", the vice president-elect would become acting president on January 20 until there is a qualified president. The section also provides that if the president-elect dies before noon on January 20, the vice president-elect becomes president. In cases where there is no president-elect or vice president-elect, the amendment also gives the Congress the authority to declare an acting president until such time as there is a president or vice president. At this point the Presidential Succession Act of 1947 would apply, with the office of the Presidency going to the speaker of the House of Representatives, followed by the president pro tempore of the Senate and various Cabinet officers
