New Zealand now has no known active cases. No new cases have been found for 17 days, despite extensive testing. They are now confident that New Zealand has eliminated Covid-19. As a result, NZ's PM Jacinta Ardern has announced that all domestic Covid-19 restriction will now end with only the international border restrictions to remain.

New Zealand’s government will lift all Covid-19 restrictions except stringent border controls almost immediately, prime minister Jacinda Ardern has said, as the nation’s health officials declared that there were no longer any known, active cases of the coronavirus remaining.

“We are ready,” said Ardern at a news conference in Wellington, adding that New Zealanders had “united in unprecedented ways to crush the virus.”

Ardern and New Zealand were criticised by some for their strict lockdown measures. It seems, however, to have paid off. Due to their collective effort, they can now go about their lives more or less as before. It goes to show that this virus can be controlled.

In case anyone wants to know...Jacinda is porn star Gina Devine in a worse body (because politics). I know this because I created her current position and the baby she purposely brings to parliament to flaunt.

It will not end well

They were...

New Zealand should be included in the blue section in that picture. And there are more things they did right. Saw a video that Infolurker shared about that some time ago here in one of these threads. I'd like to find it again, it may fit into my playlist.

Real frontline reports: Help with Corona/Covid-19 treatment: Hydroxychloroquine+Zinc(+Copper 10:1 ratio)+Azithromycin+vitC+D3

Still doin' it right. Lol, our country never used any international border restrictions, not even during the peak, or more importantly, when it was still in Italy.

At the start of the epidemic, New Zealand was in economic surplus.

There has been economic fallout from this, but the lockdown period was not that long.

And New Zealand has ample livestock and agrarian resources for its own use and then more so for trade.

I think that Jacinta's government has acted responsibly, decisively, and quickly, and by doing has shown what can be achieved.

I live in New Zealand and the company I work for has taken an economic hit, but the company, and the economy, will recover.

New Zealand livestock and agricultrual products are tightly regulated and under strict biosecurity controls. They are a trusted source for trade and, as other companies open up their borders and begin resuming international trade, New Zealand will be a very strong position in comparison with its competitors, as a 'clean' source.

There have been some economic issues. Nothing like as bad as other countries, and recovery, from this point on, is looking very strong.

Not sure what nz you are in, but there has been and still a lot of businesses closing their doors for good. Not just the small businesses but the mega big ones are closing stores.
I work in a tourism industry business, and have lost 95% of customers.
It's only seems ok at moment because government has borrowed 50 billion dollars and are throwing money at everything hoping no one notices we are in for a really tough time once the money dries up

Are they planning on skyping all of their trade deals or does that mean potential carriers will be coming to and going from? Or is Nationalism the only way forward until a vaccine is worldwide?

We are, has it?... news to me. Have we got an increase in unemployment, yeah, as expected... but it'll begin to get back to normal again. Sure certain parts of the economy like Tourism and Airflight etc will take longer to get back to normal, but those areas of the economy are hit hardest by this sort of thing.

But no, our economy hant crashed, and we arent struggling... so yeah, cut the hyperbole and falsities.

Well duh... in any situation like this theres always some aspect of the economy that gets hit the hardest, doesnt mean the entire economy is doomed because one or two 'important' ones are hit hard by travel restrictions. The problem with NZ is we often give waaaay to much weight to one or two primary industries ie our dairy exports and tourism... those two industries dont a NZ economy make, maybe if said industries took a slight cut in profit and set prices and target natives citizens of the country rather than overseas markets and rich overseas travelers the hit might not be so bad now for those industries.

I believe we are setting up a Australasian trade bubble with our neighbor which will be good for both countries, but yeah until the rest of the world gets its act together we'll be pretty insular.

No houses, finally got immigration sorted because of a virus, no green deal, burning coal constantly, no money coming into your country at all. No tourism, no sheep trade,
That and Jacinda decided to tell the Australian government how to run our country, little socialist sane is won no fans there.
Trade bubble, what have we got you want or you got we want

West Australia had a ship come in from Kuwait, live sheep transport, of the 50 crew, 7 had the virus, 43 others are being kept. You have no trade, your government is crippled and Jacinda has done nothing for your economy
Prior to this, New Zealanders are like cane toads in Australia, worse than Mexicans, flood our boarders, why? Cos the NZed economy was crippled and Jacinda has done nothing but grab photo opportunities when she can.
Politically inept, the virus has ruined your economy, at least it gives her an excuse

“Empathy is only part of the job of running the country. On empathy, she passes with flying colours. On actually running the country, well, she fails miserably. And they don’t see that overseas,” said Richardson.
He called Ms Ardern’s administration “the most ineffectual and inept government this country’s ever seen”.

And for the most part, Kiwis are good and nice people, many friends from there, just an easy country to isolate so in my opinion, nothing tough to do

Yeah but the economy in New Zealand at its maximum is not good enough, hence why Kiwis leave in such great numbers for Australia

That was true up until about four years back. Now the Aussies and Yanks are settling over in NZ Its ebb and flow NZ was getting a lot of Aussies after the second world war. Because they finished the War with a good surplus. Then after a few years Aussie became the flavor of the month. Because it was exporting its dirt. Now the Chinese don't want so much NZ looks a better bet. NZ is a steady economy not a Boom bust one.
As far as the economy goes, Not many give a flying crap except in the cities, The forest are full of game, plenty of fish in the sea and anything imported like a decent car will be found still going fifty years later.
