A new series called Space Force starring Steve Carell and John Malkovitch dropped in the last couple days. I am finding it very entertaining. You have to appreciate Carell's brand of comedy. Malkovitch is the perfect straight guy for him in this series. It has a lot of well known actors, slick production values, good pacing, and an engaging story line. It mixes in enough poignant moments to give it depth, and enough astro-political tension to give it relevance. There is also a lot of subtle, and not so subtle humor coming from different comedic angles. The supporting characters play off of each other well, and overall right now I would give it a solid 7 out of 10. Maybe close to an 8.

Anybody else check it out and want to comment?

I like Steve Carrell, but the show looks a little too political for me.

I have been waiting for this, so thanks for the heads up

If you get Amazon Prime there is another ''space'' comedy called ''Avenue 5. It's about a ''cruise ship'' in space. The owner of the tourist line was a boy wonder with one ''great idea'' that made him like the richest man in the world. He is on board as a spoiled tantrum throwing owner who have everyone cow towing to him. The captain and crew are, unknown to the passengers are merely actors playing roles. Only a couple of the crew have any real knowledge of how to run things.

So as the ship begins to break down, havoc sets in and the mentality of an overly indulged mentality of the passengers and crew just get wilder and wilder.

It is a Netflix production, whatever platform you choose to view it from. I'm not trying to plug a service, just the series.

It is center-left politically from what I can tell.

Fred had a habit of ''popping up'' all over the place. You never knew when or where, but when he did my attention was always drawn to him.

The Wife and I watched the first one the other night, maybe two of them actually. They were all right, but I was kind of lost as to why Pheeby was in prison.

We liked the show Samurai Cat. We already watched four of them. It is in a different language but they talk pretty slowly so you have plenty of time to read. It is on Amazon.

Here is a clip on it. www.youtube.com...

I wanted to watch but have a feeling it will be far too PC and starting it will be pointless. 1-10 how political is it? If I wanted politics on TV I'd put on the news.

I'm pretty much watching Korean and Japanese shows because Hollywood has become unwatchable. I recommend Kingdom, The King: Eternal Monarch, and Crash Landing on You.

On a scale of 1-10, I'd say a 0.
Strictly a commedy.
Minimal scifi, so I'm surprised I watched it.
I was bummed when the last one was over.
40 yr old virgin runs the new spaceforce basically.
7/10
