an idiot - lets call him " bob " - had a 300mm " solution " to a problem - but it was inadequate

so he decided - yousing his own brain cell - that 2 * 200mm solutions would fix his problem

bob never bothered with a calculator or any mathematics - he just went ahead [ at great expense and effort - despite being told by people who knew what they were actually doing - that it would make matters worse - but bob - ignored everyone

cos its " obvious " - that 2 * 200 = " bigger " that 1 * 300

bob is an idiot - and now bob is doing damage control - post " storm jorge " -

bob now realises that everyone else was right - and the cost of the fix is going to be even higher

I'd imagine its something to do with surface water drainage as someone thinks that 2x200 pipes are better than 1x300 which may be true for pure liquid transfer but if both are joined at the end to a 300 connector then the extra 100 is lost.
