And she hasn’t drafted legislation that will cause less pollution, close down factories, or cause reform.
All she does is moan and groan.

In 1974 I actually challenged her when she spoke at my University. She was so rattled by my answer to her question that her then husband rushed on stage to take her off. Saying she was pregnant and too tired to continue.

It is pretty condescending of you to say that people on ATS don't actually do things. You don't know.

What do you do except moan and groan on social media? If you are going to imply you are superior with your attitude, prove you are superior to the "rest of us".

This is social media.

I was born into poverty at the beginning of the sixties, and yet was happy. I was happy because I was ignorant, and this was a condition I remained in for the first 12 years of my life. I pretty much believed everything my parents told me as they tried to bring me up with an inverse nobility and good manners.

One day I started to read about the ancient philosophers, and learned the art of questioning, critiquing, looking for the more logical answers, and a lot of the ignorance began to fall away like rusted links in a chain that had enslaved my young mind. Along with life experiences I came to distrust and became what I am today, a cynical sceptic, especially of my own species.

We all know that our long traditional moderate climates are undergoing change, whether it is due to natural phases or anthropocentric interjection, or even both (which I tend to accept). Yet, even with all the scare-mongering that over-emphasises our future dire circumstances, fact is, our future circumstances are indeed dire. Not just from climate change, but more, from competing and irreconcilable ideologies.

Nothing is going to be done with regard to any change in local or global climates. If there is a list of 600 priorities, climate change is probably 409th, way down the list of importance in the minds of those with the authority to set things in motion, and to commit to right actions.

We don't have the leaders or the statesmen/women who can garner enough support to do anything. We are the worse life form on this planet. No other species of animal causes as much death and destruction on such a scale as we do. There is no possibility at all to change the minds of those who sanction such wanton rape and rampage of the environments we need to be stable to sustain us. They are not interested, and they have a vast support of ordinary people who do not want to change their lifestyle or the quality of it to...not save the planet, but to save their own habitats. They will pollute and they will poison until they themselves become victims of it, and they will not give so much as a backward glance.

I don't care what side of the fence you're on. All your arguments, your rationalisations, your opinions, your diatribes, they mean absolutely nothing. I don't accept bull# as a retort, and i especially don't see it as an intellectual endeavour. Bull# is disingenuous and deceiving, and you each know yourself to be what you are.

Greta Thunberg is nothing but a puppet, cynically managed to entice the youth of today into battling the ideology of the older generations, whom themselves were handed a similar #-sandwich.

Almost at my sixtieth year - still in relative poverty, I find myself to be an alien in an alien land that I once was proud to call my country. It isn't as though I stood still and the world moved on, I always moved with the times, educated myself by gaining the tools to do so, and yet I still find myself in a social landscape that looks at me as a robber of youth's future, as a dinosaur that should simply curl up and die (and I will eventually...but so will you).

Fact is, if climate change is real and true, the sheer scale of it is beyond our ability to do anything about it. It is going to happen in spite of our best active intentions. Many of you think that they want you to pay for futile actions of attempting to make a repair. Remember, we are not 'saving the planet', we are wanting to protect our environments and habitats from our self-destructive ways, but if that means reducing consumerism, which means reducing profit, well...you get the picture.

You know, actually, some Harvard people are tinkering with methods of blocking the sun .. and this will have negative maybe even disastrous consequences if they are trying to lower the temperature, because you see we are entering a cooling phase due to the beginning of a Grand Solar Minimum ( mini ice age in plain English).

I hope you will consider looking into UN Agenda 21, The Club of Rome and the Bilderbergs, as the whole thing is the Totalitarian New World Order as the Elites see things. Right now, politicians are recommending drastic measures which will not bring positive change, in fact their measures, while destroying our economy will also destroy mechanisms in which our society runs. Some people believe they just want to get back to nature ... I wonder how many really want to go without things like toothbrushes and other items.
