Insurance, when looked at for what it is, is everything a conservative hates.

Insurance company for whatever. Funded by the masses who pay, in a few major cases by state and federal mandate, for the possibility of an event that will never happen.

Car insurance.
Health Insurance.
Vacation Insurance.
Life Insurance.

Publicly subsidized. Masses front costs that they will never benefit from. Few prosper. All suffer the burden of.

Why is insurance legal? None the less mandatory?

It's the biggest scam, ever. If I had all of the money I've paid into various insurances over the years, I could retire right now at 39.

This thread and topic will go untouched. There’s no comprehensible explanation.

Medicare and Medicaid were first thought up as part of the Progressive platform by Theodore Roosevelt.

A big proponent of it was the American Socialist Party.

It was finally enacted as law in 1965 by the Progressive Lyndon B Johnson.

The other types of insurance are not normally publicly subsidized.

They are businesses that use a risk pool to determine rates based on... risk.

They are also heavily regulated by the government.

Is there some sort of point you are trying to make with your OP?

In the past I have gambled and lost where an auto accident was involved. I dropped all but liability just 3 months prior to a double rollover on an icy bridge 10-12years ago.

there shouldn't be insurance there should be relevant market prices that reflect the average income

Name me an insurance I can opt out of paying that the government hasn’t tapped?

Life insurance.... you opt in by definition.

Car insurance... if you have the money you just get a surety bond in most states.
Car insurance is just there to make sure you can pay if something happens.
I've not had car insurance for a decade or so... I post a bond.

ETA.. California is an odd state when it comes to that.
When I lived there to not have car insurance I paid the DMV $25,000 as a bond.
I got it back when I moved out of the state.

Vacation insurance I've never had, so I'm pretty sure you can opt out of THAT...

Health insurance would be better left in the private sector.

My experience with the government trying to mandate it cost me a pretty penny.

Anything else?

I needed an abdominal ultrasound a few weeks ago. A scan from a machine that should’ve been paid for 20,000x over from Insurance costs alone. Yet after an estimated bill of $275 dollars out of pocket. I get. Price that insurance only paid for $730 of the $1700 bill I was charged for.

For some reason, that doesn’t include the tens of thousands I’ve paid out in insurance over the years.

Yet for some reason, I still owe...

Will you buy me a new vehicle tomorrow? Not feeling too well and thinking I’m gonna crash. Can I have $3500?

My wife has battled cancer for about 5 years now.

It costs me roughly $800 a month for her insurance with a $500 yearly deductible.

When Obamacare came in and I had to change plans, they screwed up and she didn't have coverage for 1 month.

That month cost me $50,000.

I probably see things differently then you do because life and I'm sorry to hear about your battle with them.

insurance is socialism without the gov part

everyone pays. a few use, fewer still abuse. many never get out what they pay in.

an insurance company is like every other company. they are amoral. they only care about making money. they will rip you off every chance they get, using every loophole they can find or create. the only people that hate paying your bills more than you is your insurance company.

the biggest scam is the "deductible". youre paying all this money, but it isnt enough. you still have to pay out of pocket. for example, the $5k medical deduction most people have. you pay month after month for insurance, but if you dont meet or beat your deductible, then you just wasted all that money. take what you pay a year for medical insurance, then add your deductible to it. that is your true yearly cost for medical insurance. the average for a family was a monthly $1k with $5k deductible, so thats $17k a year for medical, with the first $5k coming out of your pocket. and dont forget about the surprise, "thats not covered", bills you will have to pay. its because of all this that i support universal medical. even if they raise my taxes to cover it, i bet it will still be cheaper than what i pay now, and ill get better coverage.

It used to be the requirement when I had a second job delivering Dominos pizza years ago.

After 30 minutes from the call, it was free if not delivered.

I broke a whole lotta laws making sure that happened.

you should be in prison, for the rest of your life. you need to take accountability for your actions that you have now admit in public

you are a criminal admitting guilt on a public forum

as a matter of fact I've taken screenshots of this and hashed those images for later prosecution, isn't that what you wish of others?

I don't have a cable subscription and sometimes watch online streaming but normally am happy with books.

News I get from ATS and a few other sites because frankly they are quicker to deliver it then the MSM.

I'm quite happy with my existence, unlike you.

I could sell my company tomorrow, never work again and just putter around my gardens and write my book that I've always wanted to write.

HOWEVER.

I'm working on a chunk of change for the kids to have when I kick off.

Is that bad of me to think of, in your opinion?
