Good luck controlling what is actually happening.

What is separate from what IS happening?

With that philosophy the ego, therefore, is not separate either from what IS happening.

They say that ego is part of awakening, so we need to work with and through it's/our mistakes; acknowledgement/acceptance of conceptual knowledge not denial/ignorance when listening to the voice in the head. They say return to the pre-ego state (beyond ego) - knowing your connectedness with the one but not letting the voice dilute your identity.

Then how do we split true identity from ego. If ego is part of the journey then it is a necessary element to awakening. I would even venture so far as to say that if ego is controlled then it can come along for the rest of the journey, whatever that entails.

Hi ITL.
Excellent post !

The ego is here. Perhaps not separate, but in unity with the 'this that just is' .

This was part of my journey, in realizing that ego-death, may not be necessary.
And so: instead it was ego-negotiations, and acceptance, and Love.

It may indeed be experienced differently, by different folks: but it resonated deeply here.

Cheers !

( Thanks for the vid suggestions, from you and IINA. Will watch them later, maybe over the weekend.
Am not sure, because really don't know nothin about the future... Heech-heech-heech. )

Forget philosophy....... what actually is?

Words are divisive....
Without any words at all what actually is there?
Just this.

In this, as this, stories arise about someone.
Is there really anyone in the body? Or is there simply what is appearing to happen?

We can't forget philosophy when trying to make sense of it otherwise everything would just appear to happen and we would never question it.

Feel free to philosophize this:
Is there really someone in the body choosing what thoughts arise and controlling actions?

Is there really a self separate to life/reality?

What is the self? Does it actually exist?

It sure seems like there was a separate part of the whole when I deliberately attempted astral projection and was successful. It then became a new reality of existence or consciousness. I don't know what it was to be completely honest, just that some conscious part of me separated from the body.

There is no good or bad.
There just is.

I have heard this before and it makes sense.
Too bad we humans can screw up anything.
Especially if it's simple.

You are right, there is no good or bad, so how can we humans screwing up be bad?
We humans are an animal and have the same (but in a different way) instincts like any other animal (we humans seek pleasure and avoid pain, seek food, shelter and we have babies, like any other specie of animal), but the difference between humans and any other animal is humans are able to be aware of their screwups (mistakes) and are able to correct their mistakes. Cat or dog instincts are not bad, neither are human instincts. Instincts just exist.
