The aim of this thread is to answer the claims made by some Christians here in another thread that Allah is a ‘deceiver’, and a ‘liar’,
dealing with the word used in 8:58, 7:99 And 3:54. The verse we are going to examine is the following:
“And the disbelievers planned, but Allah planned. And Allah is the best of planners.” – Quran 3:54
The historical background for the verse is that the Jews ‘planned’ evil in order to get Jesus (peace be upon him) arrested and crucified. And
Allah in the verse says as they planned evil, so too Allah planned to thwart their wicked plan. Christian missionaries have an issue with the words
used for both the Jews and Allah. They prefer to translate this way:
The above translation does not exist. It is made up. Arabic word(s) makr, Makara can be used negatively and for good. So when the Jews planned to get
Jesus arrested and crucified, that was evil, whereas when Allah thwarted their evil plan by saving Jesus, this was good. So, the claim by missionaries
that Allah is a deceiver for helping one of the Prophet’s from slaughter at the hands of evil, wicked people, these claims have no bearing on the
passage historically.
The picture above also alludes to Allah being Satan, so let's deal with that too by looking what the book of Allah has to say about Satan:
16:98 So when you recite the Qur'an, [first] seek refuge in Allah from
Satan, the expelled [from His mercy].
36:60 Did I not enjoin on you, O you children of Adam, that you should not worship
SATAN– since, verily, he is your open foe [30]
2:168 O MANKIND! Partake of what is lawful and good on earth, and follow not
SATAN's footsteps: for, verily, he is your open foe,
2:208 O you who have attained to faith! Surrender yourselves wholly unto God, [191] and follow not
SATAN's footsteps, for, verily, he is your
open foe.
2:268
SATAN threatens you with the prospect of poverty and bids you to be niggardly, whereas God promises you His forgiveness and bounty; and
God is infinite, all-knowing,
2:275 THOSE who gorge themselves on usury [262] behave but as he might behave whom
SATANhas confounded with his touch; for they say, "Buying
and selling is but a kind of [263] usury" - the while God has made buying and selling lawful and usury unlawful. Hence, whoever becomes aware of his
Sustainer's admonition, [264] and thereupon desists [from usury], may keep his past gains, and it will be for God to judge him; but as for those who
return to it -they are destined for the fire, therein to abide.
3:36 But when she had given birth to the child, [24] she said: "O my Sustainer! Behold, I have given birth to a female" - the while God had been
fully aware of what she would give birth to, and [fully aware] that no male child [she might have hoped for] could ever have been like this female
[25] - "and I have named her Mary. And, verily, I seek Thy protection for her and her offspring against
SATAN, the accursed."
3:175 It is but
SATANwho instils [into you] fear of his allies: [133] so fear them not, but fear Me, if you are [truly] believers!
4:38 And [God does not love] those who spend their possessions on others [only] to be seen and praised by men, the while they believe neither in God
nor in the Last Day; and he who has
SATAN for a soul-mate, how evil a soul-mate has he!
4:120
SATAN promises them and arouses desire in them. But Satan does not promise them except delusion.
5:90 O YOU who have attained to faith! Intoxicants, and games of chance, and idolatrous practices, and the divining of the future are but a loathsome
evil of
SATAN's doing:' [105] shun it, then, so that you might attain to a happy state!
5:91 By means of intoxicants and games of chance
SATAN seeks only to sow enmity and hatred among you, and to turn you away from the remembrance
of God and from prayer. Will you not, then, desist?
6:43 yet when the misfortune decreed by Us befell them, they did not humble themselves, but rather their hearts grew hard, for
SATAN had made
all their doings seem goodly to them
7:20 Thereupon
SATAN whispered unto the two with a view to making them conscious of their nakedness, of which [hitherto] they had been unaware;
[14] and he said: "Your Sustainer has but forbidden you this tree lest you two become .[as] angels, or lest you live forever."
7:22 and thus he led them on with deluding thoughts. But as soon as the two had tasted [the fruit] of the tree, they became conscious of their
nakedness; and they began to cover themselves with pieced-together leaves from the garden. And their Sustainer called unto them: "Did I not forbid
that tree unto you and tell you, `Verily,
SATAN is your open foe'?"
25:29 "Indeed, he led me astray from the remembrance [of God] after it had come unto me!” For [thus it is:]
SATAN is ever a betrayer of
man.
22:52 Yet whenever We sent forth any apostle or prophet before thee, and he was hoping [that his warnings would be heeded], SATAN would cast an
aspersion on his innermost aims: but God renders null and void whatever aspersion
SATAN may cast; and God makes His messages clear in and by
themselves [67] for God is all-knowing, wise.
7:27 O children of Adam, let not
SATAN tempt you as he removed your parents from Paradise, stripping them of their clothing to show them their
private parts. Indeed, he sees you, he and his tribe, from where you do not see them. Indeed, We have made the devils allies to those who do not
believe.
7:200 And if it should happen that a prompting from
SATAN stirs thee up [to blind anger], [164] seek refuge with God: behold, He is
all-hearing, all-knowing. -
7:201 Verily, they who are conscious of God bethink themselves [of Him] whenever any dark suggestion from
SATAN touches them [165] - whereupon,
lo! they begin to see [things] clearly,
8:11 [Remember how it was] when He caused inner calm to enfold you, [11] as an assurance from Him, and sent down upon you water from the skies, so
that He might purify you thereby and free you from
SATAN's unclean whisperings [12] and strengthen your hearts and thus make firm your
steps
14:22 And when everything will have been decided,
SATAN will say: "Behold, God promised you something that was bound to come true! [30] I,
too, held out [all manner of] promises to you -but I deceived you. Yet I had no power at all over you: I but called you-and you responded unto me.
Hence, blame not me, but blame yourselves. [31] It is not for me to respond to your cries, nor for you to respond to mine: [32] for, behold, I have
[always] refused to admit that there was any truth in your erstwhile belief that I had a share in God's divinity." [33] Verily, for all evildoers
[34] there is grievous suffering in store.
58:19
SATAN has gained mastery over them, and has caused them to remain oblivious of the remembrance of God. Such as these are SATAN’s
partisans: oh, verily, it is they, the partisans of SATAN, who will truly be the losers!
These are some of the verses that refer to Satan, there are a lot more. Of all the religions on earth, Islam warns us the most of Satan and his
works/intentions. So calling Allah, Satan is a very ignorant thing to say imo.
