NEWS: Child Abuse: Over 60 On Trial

Over 60 suspected paedophiles are going on trail in Paris in one of France's biggest ever criminal trials. The group has been accused of prostituting children, some as young as six months old. The case is centred on a deprived low-income town of Angers.

The defendants are alleged to have sold the children, in some cases for food. Other children have allegedly taken part in orgies with the adults, while some of the youngsters were raped by their own parents. It is also claimed that social workers were aware of the level of abuse but turned a blind eye. Around forty-five children have been alleged to have been raped and abused between 1999 and 2002. Many more suspects are thought to be still at large.




This kind of news sickens me. What was wrong with these people to make them rape their own children? These people obviously have mental health problems and need to be sectioned immediately. These youngsters’ lives have been ruined, and some are too young to even know what is going on.

The alleged paedophiles could receive seven to ten years behind bars. I personally think they should be locked up for life, why should they deserve to walk freely after a few years in jail when these youngsters are scarred for life.

Hey this type of abuses against children happen everywhere in the world, and they sometimes go unpunished, even here in the US we have our share of sick people engaging in all kind of outrageous behavior.

Unpunished?! Why? How? Surely the UK and the US would sentance paedophiles to jail time as it is looked upon so badly here.

The problem is that it takes a complain and an investigation before the authorities get to the root of the problem and can find a cause, call it bureaucratic BS, by the time, authorities figure out that something is wrong, the children already had been abuse for several years.

Then you have the ones that move all over, sure you have seen families that come ago in an area, from other states or regions, some of this sick people move often as to avoid to many questions.

How do I know? I worked for the school system for many years, child abusers will avoid to much attention as much as they can, by the time a behavior is detected with a child the family will move to another place.

Good Lord! Child abuse is "looked upon badly" everywhere! What did the French do to get targeted again?

For the record - the world is full of good people - of every nationality. When someone promotes hate based on nationality or race - suspect their political motives.

Would you like to know the real "fun" part of this, in the US the ACLU defends child molesters "rights"!

There is even a national organization commited to them. It has a website and teaches them how to find children. Called NAMBLO or somthing along those lines. According to a reporter that did the work on them they believe that a 6 year old has the right to have consential sex.

A sentence for anyone that inflicts harm onto a child is currently not servere enough to prevent this to happen... So, I would judge anyone... anyone that enjoy's this activivity, are a scorge of mankind... Remove them! Attempt to understand why it happen in the first place... History has a way of repeating itself does it not? Let's us severe this at it's root's........

Well they haven't got away with it yet, they are currently on trial and looking to receive around 10 year jail time. I think they should be locked up for life and all their possessions and money given to the victims.

No doubt about it sanc - but the writer I was speaking to was making it into a "French" thing - like no other nation deals with the same atrocities.

Yeah sorry I think I said it wrong...

I didn't mean that Uk & US were the only countries who would try a suspected peadophile, I just mean that things that happen here (UK) become big when it's something like this. For example the Jessica + Holly incident when Ian Huntly and Maxine Carr were found guilty, that was plastered all over the media. Obviously there is a load more stuff that doesn't reach the media.

Apparently some of the children were told to 'play doctor' with the adults. Very disturbing.

How the hell can a 2 month old sexually satisfy an adult?

Prostituting kids is bad, but without the people who payed for it, this may not have happened. The people who do this, to me , are nothing but scum!

Prison terms are too lenient when it comes to this type of crime.
Child abuse in any form should carry a life sentance. If the country has the death penalty, then so be it.
Touch a child and you get the chair. If that aint a deterant, then i dont know what is. I could personaly throw the switch too!!!!

People will probably flame me for ranting here, but i hate and deplore child abuse.

People might say "why the death sentance?" why not? Think of the trauma the kids will carry for the rest of their lives. Not just the trauma , but physical scars too.

I could go on for ages about this topic. In the end itonly gets to me and infuriates me.

I'm a mom - so pedophilia and child abuse freak me right out. Just getting over that 'momma tiger rip your throat out' gut response to perceived threat. ...I think it's hard wired. Feels like it.

When my daughter was small and we were in a mall say, if someone even walked between us, I had to exert effort to suppress a really primal, vicious defense response. Every cell in body told me to attack the person who got between me and my kid. I really had to fight against it - find more "civilized" ways to deal with the situation.

...How I dealt with that instinctive response was a matter of choice, but the response wasn't. ...Definitely hard wired IMO. ...and the experience was so frequent, so significant and so animal, that I've thought about it a great deal.

...Left me wondering about parents that abuse their kids, especially sexually like this. Why don't they have that hard wired response? What happened to them that killed it? Or disengaged it? How does that happen?

...No real answers, but seems to me that kiddie porn is a serious problem world wide. Which means many parents are involved. Which means that the instinctive hard wired protective response is glitched, a lot.

My question is "Why?" ...What's wrong with our world that this kind of stuff is happening? Is it chemical? Social? Economic?

I think we need to look deeper than just blaming the culprits we catch... Yes, they need to be held accountable, but IMO there's more to the story.

soficrow, Again, you have put into words what allot of us feel... No efforts have been made regarding the agentcies that we pay to oversee the welfare of all children in questionable condition's. But again, It will take everyone of use to realize... when you see Abuse, take action! That Child may thank you for listening/realizing his/her Pain... By doing so, you have prevented it from happening again, and again, and again!
We have a choice to make for that Child.... Make the right one!!!!

To tell you the truth, I really don't know how someone could bring themselve to commit this kind of act. After reading a few articles on the situation, several of them state that the parents were abused themselves as kids, maybe this had a big influence on what they did?

I think chemical castration is definitely called for here!!
