Well, they did try to explain the gyro results. Something about rays emitted by the firmament, or something. And for the curvature experiment, it was a leaf. I kid you not.

Why would there not be alien life? We don't have the proof of it yet, at least not publicly, but there is no reason the universe would contain just us. It would be extremely strange if this was the only planet with life.
