Seriously though, if all you're looking to do is simple maneuvers, or commit suicide, aircraft are not hard to fly. If you want to fly one repeatedly, it becomes more difficult.

I was just using .tmp files as an example. Ok, bad example but what I was trying to convey is portions of DARPA code may have been shared with FB to be reused/modified/enhanced over time another words 'code reuse' which some may still have 'signature' or patent(s) that lead directly back to DARPA. Depending on the program data in memory no longer needed is flushed to the bitbucket or in some cases to a garbage file which after so many days the OS will purge. Sometimes going through the painful process of extrapolating the data from it the program or software routines can be discovered that have unique signatures or patterns that can be traced to an owner.

The other possibility which I've personally had to deal with on Unix/Linux server farms is a netadmin will get sloppy in modifying or accidentally disabling certain cronjobs that periodically flush (purge) the system of all temp logs & garbage files and over time, left uncheck grow to exponential size filling the drive and CRASHING the server. Like the old days of quine zip bombs to crash mail servers. Oh, what a freakin long nightmare and worse if your backups fail.
