She only brings up concernes younger people have today. You know, those upcoming generations you older members smear each and every day for being iresponsible . I think that you are the ones being exactly that. Climate changes are real, man made or not, does not really matter. There isn't food enough for all of us as it is today. The eco system is collapsing (read the reports about extinction of bees, there are even some excellent threads here on ATS).
You should be happy that your upcoming generations are questioning their future before reproducing. Or do you want to be like India where people reproduce like bunnies even though they don't have the means to provide the basic things for their children?

Heck, once you're deciding the reproduction so carefully, then there is nothing to stop you from deciding when people cease to be useful enough to continue polluting the planet with their carbon footprint too.

I have no problem with those who will mentally agree with AOC not reproducing. It is sound advice in that respect. That is simple natural selection at work. Win /win!

None of us have ever said climate changes aren't real. Most of us learned about things like the Ice Age. If climate never changed at all, I'd be sitting underneath a mile of ice right now. If climate never changed at all, the descendants of Vikings would still be farming in Greenland which would still resemble that for which it was named. If climate never changed at all, there quite a few Meso American tribes that would never have died out over the centuries.

Do you get the idea?

Climate changes. It's what it does. It's a natural process.

The only thing that has changed about climate is mankind's hubris in declaring that we are suddenly going to control it both for better or for worse on a global scale.

It's irrelevant whether climate changes are man made or not. Only thing that matters is that our climate and eco system are declining at a rate we havent experienced in past couple of hundreds of thousand of years.

The other problem isn't that some people have chosen to make choices based on an apocalypse that they are convinced will occur, but rather that you have more and more people in positions in power that are thinking they ought to make decisions for *all* of us based on that hypothetical apocalypse in an effort to avoid it.

They believe they are justified with religious fervor. At least Heaven's Gate behaved like all proper cults and walled themselves off from the rest of society instead of trying to take society along with them.

They're all trans, gays, or otherwise liberals anyway.

Liberals are not Americans, they're traitors. They're the enemy in our midst. Your neighbors, co-workers, a minor but double digit percent of the armed forces, half of our elected politicians. Marxists, Socialists, baby killers, criminals, immigrants legal or illegal, a majority of women, and a majority of minorities.

They shouldn't reproduce so that they all die out. We should speed the process by putting them in camps.

Except that "this isn't just advice." Many groups in the left are actually demanding for policies similar to China's one child policy, even though China now has a "two child policy" meanwhile murdering unborn and born alike which is what the left in the U.S. will lead us into if this madness is allowed to continue.

I trust they won't be hyperbolic. Optional late term abortion doesn't meat the bar you just set either, as despicable as the practice is.

So, does it make sense to allow a influx of Latino illegal immigrants into states such as CA. that are already struggling with limited life sustaining resources such as water? They're also a group that is predominately Catholic and culturally tend to have large families. Wouldn't we be compounding the problem of the very issue we're trying to resolve? Not to mention the huge increase of pollution in our oceans, the poisoning of our ground water from our landfills and drilling as well as the decrease of our air quality which is already very marginal in cities like LA.

It certainly doesn't make sense to me to push for a increase in population while under the same breathe ask for it to be decreased.

She's a special kind of stupid in my book.

All the indicators show that the earth's eco system is breaking down, man made or not.
Temperatures and sea levels are rising at dramatic rates, man made or not.
And here you are claiming that we don't know where we are heading?!

AOC never said that people should not reproduce but merely that she understands why they are sceptical.
You are only doing AOC a favour by twisting her words and lying. You know, the same thing CNN has done to Trump at occasions.
