I have some good quality stuff captured on dashcams, amazing how much that technology has advanced. So I buy what you’re saying here but could you say a little more about what led you to the beliefs of keeping your cards close to your vest? Not asking about evidence in regards to footage/accounts/etc. just more on the cautionary nature of your posts.

To the point of the OP, I believe that interest hasn’t faded per se. Instead, I think that you have a confluence of factors over the last 20 years:

-1999-2001 you get the millennium, internet expansion and an economic bubble. It was euphoria there for a while and you got quite a bit of footage posted as the tech was becoming widely available to capture evidence. Greer was actually digging hard on the topic (before monetizing it) and then you got 9/11...

2001-2008: The public had its attention diverted to terroeism, war and the housing boom/bust. The media was awash in stories about Bush2 and Cheney - no air time available for UFOs.

2008-2013(ish): Darkest days for the economy since the Great Depression. People were focused on many things that weren’t UFOs - like finding a job or paying their mortgage. Bigger fish to fry. And, again, the media was salivating over the coverage of the recession. No time for much else. It was also in this timeframe that - imo - we had a big blueing of news in the traditional sense and the tabloid/celebrity news. If you look at FoxNews now, for instance, it’s reads a lot lore the the Star out of the UK than it does the WSJ. Again, not enough air time or space to add UFO commentary - it’s. It bleeding so it’s not leading.

2014-Present: election coverage/trashing trump/celebrity gossip/doom porn/sociol engineering/racial division/etc. is all the media has time for. Ironically, that’s also was ATS has largely devolved into (minus the celebs - generally ). So, again, little time for UFO discussion.

I’ll lastly say that in the last 20 years CGI access for the masses has increased a ton. This is the perfect, innocuous way for TPTB to cover up/water down/blur the ET phenomenon. Instead of denying, you make a mockery of the subject by floooding the web with hoaxes and mockery. Suddenly the credible stuff because lost in the noise or bias that the phenomenon is just a bunch of hooey. The impact of this is that interest probably still remains high behind closed doors but people are less likely to share and when they do the major news outlets are too busy with other agendas to care and don’t want to risk their perceived credibility (which is somewhat laughable to say anyway!) by airing some UFO stuff.

So - here we sit. My guess is it will take a “land on the White House lawn” kind of event to make the mainstream push the subject forward and reignite public/broad based interest in the subject.

Lastly - tech has also helped TPTB keep a lid on things/people. They can track and shut it down faster and more effectively now than 20 years ago. So there’s that.

Maybe its just as well that we will never be told , or find out for ourselves , as the truth could be so unpalatable for the majority of the "Normal Joe" that first it will be disbelieved , then there will be fear, then the word Demons will be suggested for who they are by the religious communities around the world .
Can you imagine how your children will react to such fantastical news,

I don't think the world is ready for such a shock, one wonders if we ever will be,

I think we are at least a 100 years away from being grown up enough to take what must eventually come out.

Points well taken. I’ve spent a fair bit of time researching and learning about the UFO phenomenon and frankly I don’t even know how I’d react to “the truth”.

I have acquaintances who live in small towns. They’re stereotypical “rural” America. God/guns/Trump/trucks/work a trade/etc. I paint this picture not to talk down on them in the least (they’re very nice and kind people) but to say that their world view is pretty narrow. They speak in platitudes, aren’t critical thinkers, etc. A mass UFO issue would probably disrupt their bubble fairly significantly and frankly I’m not sure how they’d react. If I had to guess, they would probably be fear based first and then end up listening to their pastor about how to square ET with everything they have dogmatically followed since forever.

Said another way, those who are the most devout in any one way would have the hardest time with this. Whether that’s belief in the Gov, a religion, etc. - those who’s faith in things is the blindest would have the hardest time understanding and critically thinking about it - and thus may have the most adverse reactions.

This doesn’t even touch on the people who decide to start looting, engage in general vandalism/criminal activity every time there is a natural disaster/evacuation or generally chaotic situation.

You’re right - we’re not ready - and sadly may never be.

Personally, If I had good footage or pictures of a UAP I wouldn't share it online. What would be the point, half of the people would claim it's fake, the other half would start drooling about space brothers or demon Nephilim.

Despite the evidence that these things have been seen regularly for thousands of years, and that the number of sightings has increased almost every year since Arnold's sighting, people get the third degree and ridicule up the butt if they say they saw something. why would anyone want to go through that? I know I don't. Most of the time you can't even discuss UAP on this website without someone calling you names and totally sidetracking the convo. I stopped engaging in threads primarily because of those people. There's no use engaging them, they're not here for conversation on the subject or to investigate, they're just here to debunk ( in any way they can, even if it doesn't make any sense), because they're so fricken jaded.

People are generally more cynical these days. Introversion/conformity are on the upswing.

Movies now portray aliens/ufo as a given, not a thing of extreme curiosity. In TV, the X-files typifies the same.

Video games didn't seem to assimilate the theme very well either.

imo, the best evidence comes from ancient pre-history and the origin of man. The same quest, just looking in the rear view mirror.

Lets also face the reality that there will surely be lawsuits against any governments that held back knowledge of abductions.....having experienced them myself , I will say, they are absolutely life altering , and the Governments are responsible for not providing support and care for victims....once the disinformation dies down like it has....the next RIGHTFUL MORAL PROPER STEP is to begin identifying and assisting abduction victims......reality shows us the global Cabal is history....this is a clean-up action now....the head of the snake has disconnected itself on purpose and left the body to be pillaged......so now the real question is this.....do the People who have turned the tide for Humanity by neutering the Cabal really have 100% Humanitarian goals and intentions ...because if they do then providing immediate open vetted assistance to all known Abductees should become a National and Global priority.

Starting with a fully vetted Government Salary and Pension pro-rated and backdated retroactively to the first abduction event which was the point that by proxy these victims became UNKNOWING UNAWARE FUNCTIONING GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES...….make it by the book and generous it must be a pay grade suited to the risk and exposures....this means one of the highest not middleground or lowest.....lump sum to catch up and Pension till passing.

I think the amount of focus on other big things happening in the world at the moment have kind of stolen the attention of the public. Also the ridicule of ufo believers and experiencers has kept many people from speaking up about it. We have politics to distract our tiny brains to not think about the real things going on.
