Been thinking in vintage 78 old British aircraft for at least 20 years now.I know BA fasteners more than UN stuff.Probably why my heads wired differently.

Sweden, UK and Italy as 'equal' partners. Stealing Italy away for the Franco-German-Spanish FCAS doesn't seem as likely now.

Italy knows that in the New EU led by France and Germany, the chance of any significant Italian defence industry being allowed to complete with the Airbus et al is remote. Siding with the UK is their last play.

They just know that the France / German plane will never taking the sky, with the European economic crisis there will be no money to invest in a futur fighter

I think they'll find a way to do it. Every wealthy nation will want a 6th gen fighter by the time the 2040s roll around...and the kinks are ironed out!
