Right you are. When Bush landed on the aircraft carrier, the banner above saying "Mission Accomplished" was probably the only true statement made during his administration.

The Mission that was accomplished was the plundering of the US Treasury.

Are you crazy? As soon as we closed all of our European bases Russia would be moving in. Just look at Poland and the Ukraine as well as Crimea. And Georgia. My dad was stationed in Europe and I served as well, and I know first hand the training we are giving our allies in NATO in order to stop Russia from 'annexing' territory. The militaries of the countries involved have ASKED us to be there, and ASKED us to train them. I have been also in civilian capacity to Ukraine and Poland on the ground and they are glad we are there.
Calling it a waste of money truly shows your lack of education or experience in the matter.

You don't know what happened before the video.

But you can be damned sure his guys murdered more innocents than that Iraqi police unit did.

Yeah confident enough to know because I have done that job. Confident enough because in doing that job it was a constant problem that those we were trying to train would either turn on us, or were giving over information that compromised our troops. Especially after we got hit when no one else should have known when and where we were going to be and had to ferret out the mole.

Again , I have a lot more of an idea than you armchair generals over here spitballing and condemning his actions when its clear youve never been in the situation.

Well, you're a soldier, so I guess that's that.

We did not fail in Iraq. Our military and it current capabilities could've ended the conflict as well as in Afghanistan in under 5 months.


The problem is that congress, and politicians order our soldiers to make war, then tie their hands behind their back in regard to how they wage it.

Congress, the white house, the senate, etc. can order them to war. But if they do, they need to lay the hell down, shut the hell up, and let the military win the #ing war in every way they deem necessary.

Sure the government can mandate our soldiers go to war. But get the # out of the way once you do and let them win.


This is why we civilians play a role... Do not let our soldiers die and lose in vain. We vote the garbage in who orders our soldier to war. It's our responsibility to enable that our soldiers, if ordered to war, are given every opportunity to win it.

Nothing to do with "armchair warriors" it's the fact that most of these pointless invasions is not about keep your country safe. It's about sociopaths who crave money, power and control! They do not give a crap if you live or die!

Iraq war was Illegal, full stop! Millions of innocent men, women and children lost their lives!

It's wrong on so many levels!

Their culture has been deeply imbedded in their DNA for thousands of years

We would have to micro manage every aspect of their gover ment for centuries to change it

The modern academic community is foolish and stupid for the mentality it produces in our "leaders"

He's one of those people who think anyone in the military should be treated like royalty or the Pope or something. We are all equal citizens under the Constitution. Some of the extremism expressed by their statements makes me think their allegiance is to the core and NOT the Constitution. These blood thirsty ex-military types show their true colors by their absolute lack of respect for the people they are supposed to be protecting.

The purpose of the US military is to protect the American people. How is destabilizing all the counties in the Middle East except Israel in our best interest? It seems to me we are just giving the extremists in the Middle East reasons to commit terrorist attacks against Americans. And as I said with all the money we spend on the US military it is a complete waste since all the spending did absolutely NOTHING to protect us on 9/11. If we spent just a few billion dollars for secure locks on airline cockpit doors like ET AL has on their jets 9/11 would never have happened! But the CEOs did not want to waste the money on any additional regulations.

Guns or butter, choose! Since WWII it's been nothing but guns. It's time for the US military to stand down. Let the Chinese protect their own oil supplies needed for producing and transporting all the World's goods. Since we no longer have any factories here why should we be the World's police force. The government and military is suppose to serve the people NOT the other way around. Where in the Constitution does it say the American worker has to be a slave to the military industrial complex?

All military spending is pure socialism. It's stealing money from one person and giving it to someone else for the "public good". What I find so amazing about you military extremists is you never think military spending is socialism. It's funny how the people who are most outspoken against socialism are the very ones who benefit from it the most.

We spend trillions of dollars on the US military. A trillion is a 1000 billion. If we spent a few billion on airport security before 9/11 then maybe 9/11 would never have happened.

Take shipping ports as another example of where we are wasting money on the US military rather than doing what will make us safer. If the US adopted European port protocols where containers are scanned for dirty bombs at ports of origin then the US would be a lot safer. But the Republicans in Congress have blocked every attempt to implement European port security measures. Just like following security measures for airlines based on what ET AL did was rejected because of cost, one of these years a dirty bomb is going to go off in Port Elizabeth or Port Long Beach. And then we will adopt European protocols. But spending trillions on fighter jets and aircraft carriers will do absolute NOTHING to prevent the next 9/11 event.

Where does saying the Iraq war was a waste of money turn into an attack on solders.

Reckless foreign policy has nothing to do with the quality of the people in the US military sworn to protect the American people and uphold the Constitution above every other consideration.

I don't understand the military extremists on this thread. You would think people would be more outspoken against meaningless American adventurism and reckless foreign policies with ambiguous and meaningless objectives.
