The Boy Scouts of America organization is weighing whether to file for bankruptcy protection as it deals with lawsuits over alleged sex abuse, The Wall Street Journal has reported.
"We have a social and moral responsibility to fairly compensate victims who suffered abuse during their time in Scouting, and we also have an obligation to carry out our mission to serve youth, families and local communities through our programs," the statement said.
A number of people have sued the Boy Scouts in recent years, contending that the organization did not do enough to prevent pedophiles from becoming Scout leaders in decades past.

Well, there goes the boy scouts. Appears they are being sued for not doing enough to prevent pedophiles from infiltrating into leadership positions and doing what pedophiles do.
