Painkiller junkies have ruined life for people like me. It's harder than hell to get help with the pain here in the US now.

Got to admit, I was hesitant whether to post the picture - but as the subject couldn't be seen, I went with it.

Sooo much history in London that people walk past everyday and don't recognise.

As an aside, I grew up in a Cotswold village and to the side of our garden was an alleyway that farmers used to herd sheep into the square at market time. Anywho, this alleyway had a ramshackle brick "shed" 10 by 8ft built into it. I used to "explore" in there as a 5 yr old as it was abandoned and rundown... until mum stopped me because that was where they used to put the bodies of those killed by the plague in the 15th century!!

The main red and white building is Beaufort House at the back of Aldgate tube station. It used to be the telecoms headquarters of the GPO back in the 50s I think.

When I was there there were IT and Telecomms companies, the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, and a few insurance brokers.

ETA - a look at Googlemaps should show you surrounding businesses... a lot of IT and banks, The London Metal Exchange, Devonshire square (which is worthy of a dig)... and a rather good Italian wine bar that serves free pizza to make you drink more. Oh, and there's a methadone clinic just round the corner. Also a major Royal Bank of Scotland admin building 100 yds away.

Saving the best for last, the church of St Botolph. St Botolph was patron saint of "ladies of the night" and the Jack The Ripper murders were all within a few hundred yards.

If Mueller had some idea that the accusation was coming up, the story of paid actors makes sense. It would water down the real accusation.

I wonder about the badly remembered histories of previous cycles... why badly remembered?

The only thing I can come up with is that the end of the cycle was so psychologically traumatising that all humanity were babbling wrecks for a handful of generations. That people stopped communicating mostly because they were too entranched in dealing with their own inward recovery from the pain.

The Roman Empire morphed into the Holy Roman Church into The Holy Roman Catholic Church into the modern Catholic Church.

For 1,500 years they have been systematically removing books and scrolls from society. South America's history was wiped out by the Conquistadors who had a Papal Order to do so. The Church received half of the loot BTW.

Russia did much the same when they had the revolution ... as did China ... and everybody should know about the book burnings via bonfires carried out by the Third Reich.

Then there were the Crusades, the Inquisition etc ad infitum.

The knowledge has been deliberately wiped and our version, taught in schools is just a perverted parody.

The history does exist ... deep in the bowels of the Vatican Catacombs.

There are other institutions as well, some in the US where much material was moved from Europe prior to WW2.

Finally caught up with the thread. Have to do this every day since I live down under.

Oh my! Blue Bell is the BEST! If you ever get your hands on their Southern Blackberry Cobbler Ice Cream, it is amazing. It actually has chunks of pie crust in it that taste just like grandma's. Now I'm graving some.

Perhaps the burning of the library at Alexandria needs to be added. (Though I was taught that that was built up with copies made of books arriving on ships- which means there was a surviving original)

I am old as well. I can only fight with information. i continue to look at what i think or know as opposition because i believe we need to fight on multiple planes
