Making abortions illegal will only shift it underground and make it more dangerous for everyone involved. And yeah, I seriously doubt the women in America will accept it.

All that may be so, my point is that if the GOP and SCOTUS do this, it will be, I believe, a political death to the GOP for a long time.

The American woman is already pissed off, this will make it a storm.

You know, I’m certainly anti trump and totally against the child separation, but actually, I’m not an open border person.

I have seen what I believe is the economic harm too much immigration has done to communities.

That said, immigration is not on of my major issues of concern one way or the other

Nobody is going to totally illegalize the horrible practice. Generally known that it will be legal under certain circumstances in cases of rape and incest (life endangered, etc.). Most people agree with that. Currently only 29% believe that Abortion should be legal under any circumstance. 50% believe in restrictions, and only 18% believe it should be totally illegal under any circumstances.

For some unknown reason, most Democrats think there is some kind of overwhelming majority on unrestricted abortion practices. There is over 17 years worth of gallup polls here. You can mostly bet that restrictions will happen after the first trimester for sure in many states.

I am adamantly pro-life. I hate how Roe vs. Wade has been distorted into a bumper sticker "Right to Abortion"

It isn't a right to abortion.

All that said, Roe vs. Wade did 2 things:

1) It decided that a State cannot prevent a woman from seeking out a valid medical procedure that would save her life, even if it terminated her pregnancy.

2) It recognized that the States have an intrinsic interest in the life of unborn children and therefore did have some power to regulate the rules for abortions in their borders, with the caveat that it was fully accessible within the first 24 weeks of pregnancy.

The SCOTUS, no matter how right wing, is not going to overturn #1

The SCOTUS may update #2 to a lower number of weeks and give the States more regulatory power.

I highly doubt they will make abortion 100% illegal.
