Google lists GOP NC state senator as 'bigot' in controversial image

Google search results for a Republican politician from North Carolina on Friday displayed a photo of the woman with the word “bigot” written across the bottom before it was taken down.

The photo that appeared on the right side of the page, first reported by Vice News, showed a photo of North Carolina State Sen. Trudy Wade with the word "bigot" written in capital red letters under her headshot.

When contacted by Fox News, a Google spokesperson said that “Information and images from our Knowledge Panels are automatically sourced from around the web. When we are alerted to issues like this, we move quickly to fix the problem, as we did in this case.

www.foxnews.com...

Some of you may remember my OP from the other day about GOOGLE listing the California GOP as Nazis:

GOOGLE Listing “NAZISM” As The Ideology Of The California Republican Party

www.abovetopsecret.com...

This is an obvious trend with GOOGLE...and one they only correct after being discovered and called out.
GOOG took down their libelous listings after public outrage...but one wonders how many other examples of GOOGLE'S partisan bias remain to be discovered, where it's slander of the GOP is concerned.

It's a clearly malicious and politically-biased abuse of it's own power and control.
Even the Left SHOULD be properly outraged over this election meddling.

When people rely on search engines for the truth and this happens, ideologically, we're screwed.

That's a big 10-4!

Google’s true origin partly lies in CIA and NSA research grants for mass surveillance

People love name calling.

The problem I personally have with her and people like her believe it's the government's place to use moral legislation based on their personal religious beliefs. Like gay married partners shouldn't get Healthcare because God said so.

does this guy from Google mean that the site is being constructed automatically with no human intervention and some kind of an AI is doing it and chose a random picture of her from the web not noticing the word BIGOT on it ?????

So you wouldn't mind GOOG listing your or a family member's photo with the word 'FASCIST' stamped under it?

I have never made fascist comments or run for office making fascist statements.

It would probably say libertarian skeptic.

Or possibly cynical crank.

What if GOOGLE decided your "libertarian" comments made you a 'FASCIST' and listed your photo labelled "FASCIST".
Still okay?

This statement tells me you think Google made the appropriate move and they are not in the wrong.

So you think one ideology should be able to determine for everyone else what that person is or thinks or feels?

How would libertarian views be mistaken for fascist?

I do not.

I assume it was hacked or an employee with access did this.

If it was intentional then it is just another sign of decisive partisanship that is everywhere.

However let's just say if an AI with no religious beliefs and the definition of bigotry were to analyze her speeches and positions it may come to this conclusion.

Is it the job of a search engine to point this out. No.

Let's be clear -- with a lot of legislation it is basically all morality of one form or another, even progressive legislation that you want to label secular is still a form of morality.

This may be true but there is a clear understanding the US law was made to protect the little guy not the group like socialism. So we could also point out where progressive morality should not be used. Same as we are supposed to keep religion out of the legislative process.

Your reply seems to say since progressive legislation is not part of the founding American legal philosophy theological should also be allowed.

Election meddling?

I'm not sure why anyone should be outraged over something this silly, let alone go as far as to say it's election meddling.

Methinks you are being a drama queen and this is a bit childish to get worked-up over.

They pulled the picture. Move on.

So then, do you think legislation that violates the COTUS should be allowed as those pushing progressive agenda try to do by wishing to silence the dissenters and disarm the citizens?

This is still my favourite google #upery:

www.wired.com...

In 2015, a black software developer embarrassed Google by tweeting that the company’s Photos service had labeled photos of him with a black friend as “gorillas.”

More than two years later, one of those fixes is erasing gorillas, and some other primates, from the service’s lexicon.
