And when they move away, they take their voting habits with them so they can foul someone else's nest.

I'm no conservative but I'll support any policies that won't turn other states into the next California.

I do not wish for Nevada or other states to become another California. I want to distance myself from the state.

I don't drink while driving, so I won't bring garbage to your state.

I'll tell you it's not just the CEO's and execs - I personally know several LAFD and LAPD (best paid and pensioned in the country) who have done the same. Their master plan is to work maximum OT in their last 2 years on the job to inflate their pensions then retire and move out of state, taking their pension money with them. The best part is that they are a hardcore democrat voting bloc - they just don't want to live out their golden years in the mess they created.

I could see the LAFD folks being liberal dems, but I would have never, in a million years, thought the LAPD folks would be anything but conservative. At least below the commander ranks.

I will say, however, there’s a buttload of money to siphon if one is determined enough and had the right plan in California. For me personally, I just charge, literally, whatever I feel like., and the customers never Bat an eye. And they call me for their next issue. It’s not a state for the lazy, safety net folks, content with their level of prosperity with little effort. Change with the times or get crushed by it.

Well they're union so they toe the liberal line.

The Wealthier people have a scam to moving to Calif.
Calif is a Second home but many do not claim it as there primary residents.

This has big tax advantages as there investments are still linked to there home states or states like Nevada or Texas with no income taxes.
These snowbirds only stay in Calif during the cooler months to hid from the snow and leave during the hottest months of the summer. We see them every winter with there million dollar motor homes and out of state plates.

I wish everyone were suddenly forced to move back to where ever they were born.

I'm a Cali native and have watched the demise of my state. From the illegals filth to the rest of the liberal polices, from the dotcom fiasco to Hollyweird, from this to that and here to there, the state is ruined.

The rich folks coming in will find themselves turning back and leaving sooner than they thought.

Yep. Ridiculous.

We have got our very own Elysium forming.

Did you know last year, even $105,000 for a family of 4 was considered low income in SF? mind blowing.

if you're looking at north Carolina I can attest that Asheville is a great place.

consider Greenville south carolina. it's cheap, plenty of work and it's very pretty. city is growing fast too.

I live there 6 months out of the year. moved there from los angeles.

LA is going to be like Detroit in ten years. now's the time to bail.

The same happened to Florida. Florida had to introduce an out-of-state income tax to make up the shortfall.

Yup, and I do the same. I charge what I need. People here can afford to pay a premium for professional services, so I always stepped up my game to make sure I offered the best service. I love it here, you can’t replace the actual experience of the land here imho and I plan on just buying a home and being real estate wealthy bc I don’t see prices ever going down here. It may not be for everyone but I wanted it bad enough to get it and I did it with no support, no credit, no college, I was not from here, I knew no one here and nothing illegal. Just worked, networked, saved, and didn’t give up. It wasn’t always easy but the weather was always nice and I was grateful for it. Just my exp. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to gamble with their future like I did. Coming up in SoCal is not for the faint of heart.

If i won the lottery and became rich the first thing i would do is leave Calif.

The only reason i am still in calif is the company i retired from went bankrupt and my retirement is only about 1/4 of what it should be and i had to quit working early due to health problems.

Wealthier people and those from states like New York and Illinois are moving in by the droves to California while young people with less money are bailing out to states such as Texas, Arizona and Nevada, a report from the state’s Legislative Analyst’s Office revealed Wednesday.

As a result, California is increasingly becoming a state only for rich people.

Source Article

For those wondering why, it has a lot to do with the rising costs in California. In order to live in California, you have to have a roommate, live with parents or find a a high paying job. By high paying job, I meant corporate, IT, or Hollyweird. Many of these jobs are very notorious for being hard to get in.

...

From what I hear, you have to make $150,000 AND live in your mom's basement AND have a roommate AND deliver newspapers at night in order to live in California.

I'm barely kidding. I heard somewhere that the "Powerty limit" quite literally is creeping towards a 6 figure income.

This will probably go on until the only ones left besides homeless people crapping in the street, are people making $1 million per year or more. There will of course be underpaid jobs available as toilet seat polishers for rich douchebags.
