I think we are missing one aspect of this. I remember when Cohen's offices were raided everyone said that because Mueller reffered the case to the Southern district of New York fbi. That he must have uncovered evidence of a crime while running his investigation. And Mueller had nothing to do with the Southern district of New York fbi raiding Cohen's offices. That doesn't seem completely true.

The only way that referral makes sense now is if Mueller had Cohen under surveillance before the raid. Then sent the refferal after finding some evidence not having anything to do with Mueller's probe to the Southern district of New York fbi. I guarantee that any evidence uncovered by the Southern district of New York fbi having to do with Mueller's probe will be turned over to him. It seems like a backdoor way to violate attorney client privilege.

Meuller surveiled Cohen until he found some evidence then referred it to the Southern district of New York fbi. Who raided his offices so if they stumbled across evidence against Trump they would hand it over to Mueller. That sounds pretty shady.
