Rip it down immediately. This statue alludes to the Mayflower and the forefathers. That's before America became America, and it was ruled by the British, who were slave traders. Rip it down now.

Your second link doesn't work for me. But what has been hidden? And what are we ignoring? It's an impressive statue, but pretty traditional for its time. In other words, standard rhetoric. The first video is rather breathless in its presentation, but its points are well known. It represents the transition from the Divine Right of Kings where the idea was that God gave Kings their power to rule to the idea that God gives every free person the right ti rule over themselves. Back then it was a big deal because it really hadn't been tried before, at least in modern times. There's nothing esoteric about this and nothing hidden. It's pretty straightforward. I hadn't heard of this particular monument before, so thanks for bringing it up.

it was put into the darkness of history in lieu of the statue of liberty.

It's a rather typical statue with rather typical themes. You have done a poor job of explaining why you think this is so important. It does not deserve any sort of first-billing in the national consciousness.

I would have to roll back your date to around 1900 when the Progressives began to gain real control of government. Teddy Roosevelt, FDR and Woodrow Wilson pushed the United States into the world empire club with heavy-handed statist doctrines at home and military interventions abroad. From them we got the Income tax, Federal Reserve, Social Security and Welfare programs of every stripe, the Spanish-American war, Great Depression plus World Wars 1 and 2.

I mention this to point to the departure point in America when we turned from the ideals of freedom and personal responsibility to the nanny state and creeping socialism. Yes, Lincoln brought us far along that path but he was an aberration of sorts because after the war much remained the same per American attitudes about freedom and non-intervention abroad.

It was the religious faith of those early settlers and the founding fathers that created the core ideals of American Constitutional Republican rule (not the Republican party). Progressivism crept in as the church began it's slow decline in the 20th century. Notice how "community Organizers" like Obama have taken the place of the original community organizers - the church.

The sheer scale of this monument dictates it should hold prominence in the pantheon of American iconography even if it's connection to the original ideology of the Plymouth colonists were not the subject. Even though I lived in the Northeast (NY) and traveled extensively I had neither seen nor heard of it.

I agree, some things are purposely ignored in favor of ideology.
