app.grammarly.com...

Maybe this has been posted. Maybe folks know about it.

Grammarly, a new spelling, and writing app from Google is a great aid to posting here. Install it and it really helps with grammar and spelling of your posts.

It has a version that works with office 2007 and up

That would technically be "I hear A good education would help even better."

However, English is my third language so I could be quite wrong.

To the OP... I was not aware of the app... thank you for sharing and I will try it out!

It’s really good, believe me. It will tremendously improve posting errors, pronunciation, and spelling

What do you expect from Google? They want to remake the dictionary like Amazon wants to remake civilization

That’s only if you’re educated.

If you are using it then it doesn't help with punctuation. There is no comma before the word "and".

I have to stop now. I feel the grammar Nazi within trying to claw its way out.

I think that's only a British English thing..

A comma before 'and' is totally acceptable.

Just tried this thing out. No no no no. This app wants way more information than I'd like an app to have.

It is referred to as The Oxford Comma, and makes more sense a lot of the time than not using it.

"I had eggs, toast, and orange juice." versus "I had eggs, toast and orange juice."
Insinuation: I had eggs, with a side of toast coated in orange juice.

"I would like to thank my parents, Rosie, and God." versus "I would like to thank my parents, Rosie and God."
Insinuation: Rosie and God are my parents and I would like to thank them.

Half of the fun here is derived from the dodgy grammar and spelling though.

I installed this. And the FF plugin, but it makes quoting a post on here impossible, and seems to bork the text edit box.

I like it though, elsewhere. not that I need it obvsiouisly.. I am a propper speller.

(it does out do firefox's built in spelling checker which I am constantly fighting with)

I just do not trust Google. It wouldn't surprise me if there is not a built in keylogger embedded in it. Probably chock full of spyware.
