Not to be harsh but

There's a reason you don't breed deformed dogs.

I know they are cute puppies.

But humans should be guilt tripped into gene pool deformations?

We need to abort emotion-based decision makers.

My lillie was a troubled little girl when she was left as the last in her litter. Knowing that she would likely be euthanized when taken to the pound by the people who irresponsibly let her mom end up having a litter, we decided to take her.

12 years later and she's still with us. Her back knees dislocate if she tries to run, and her lower jaw isn't strong enough to chew anything harder than pudding. Her eyes are a milky green. Her ears never stood up like a rat terriers are suppose to, not to mention she looks more like a hunchbacked whippet than anything else.

Life has value. Its important. Im not saying we create malformed life on purpose. Im saying that when malformed life is placed here, we owe it to the environment we live within to try to help make that life bearable.

This planet is a closed system, and all we got are each other.

I would never abort a child. I think its an atrocity. That said, i keep my nose out of other peoples business. So to each their own.

Sounds kinda icky when you change a word. But that's what people do.

They think if they change a word, it makes it more palatable.

Just my opinion.

Completely agree. Thanks.

But I'm the ass hole here. I can't believe how screwed up this planet is right now.

One day a Martian probe is going to discover some bacteria in the soil of Mars.

LIFE! MARTIANS!

Lifelifelife! All the headlines will scream.

LIFE!

But a developing human? Meh. Not so much.

I struggle with this one. I am generally pro-life, but don't really have an issue with parents who choose to abort if a child has a serious genetic defect. I know I probably would have aborted had it been known one of our children had DS.

Maybe it is me, but it seems Gerber is trying too hard to get accolades. I don't really get why there is a need to put a kid with down syndrome on the bottle.

Why? Look at all the free publicity.
If anyone thinks corporations care about down's symdrome kids you are fooling yourself.

This thread is disgusting.

All I see is a cute happy baby.

What the hell is wrong with some of you people?

That's my point... I see this as nothing but them trying to virtue signal to get sales.

When I was in business school getting my MBA, I had a very well known marketing professor tell the class when designing marketing campaigns: "You have to realize that most of people are pretty stupid..." I mean who falls for this campaign? Gee, I am going to buy more Gerbers because they put a [snipped] kid on the label...

I guess some people think this baby should be dead or should have been aborted as to not inconvenience society. And people whom would defend his right to live are now viewed as jerks by many.

Sick, IMO.

Most likely we'll try to sell it stuff. Cars, TVs, eternal salvation through Jesus Christ, etc.

Why NAZI Eugenics and not just regular Eugenics?

Eugenics is a very logical and pragmatic science that would benefit the human race. We have too many people and too many low IQ and non-productive people in the world these days. We would benefit humanity by limiting new births to those that are genetically superior.
