The American People are Losing Without Government Accountability.

The recent sexual harassment and molestation scandals are exposing how government officials continue to be above the law and protect themselves from losing their political high-paying jobs. The American people continue to ignore the corruption and scandals in government because it’s become business as usual. These politicians are accountable to nobody except themselves. It’s truly the fox guarding the hen house!

I don’t have the answers on how to change this corrupt system short of changing part of our constitution. When our elected representatives have complete control over…

• Setting Salaries and Raises
• Exposing Criminal Offenses Within Their Ranks
• Preventing Classified Documents from Being Made Public that Exposes Government Corruption and the Public’s Right for the Need to Know.

• Eliminating Corporate Lobbying
• Eliminating Super PACs
• Dipping into Tax Payers Personal Funds Like Social Security Without any Illegal Consequences
• Spending Billions and Trillions of American Tax Paying dollars on Foreign Aid and a War Machine While Ignoring the Domestic Needs of its citizens
• The Political Justice System is Applied with Leniency toward Government Representatives as Compared when it’s Applied to its Citizens
• Ignoring the Public Voice in Favor of Party Politics and Corporate Influence

When does the American Public decide enough is enough? As citizens, how do we gain control of a government who would rather engage in political infighting and divisiveness instead of negotiating the needs of its citizens? They use our young military men and women like pawns in a chess game! Some of these overseas conflicts do nothing to protect or benefit America’s homeland. Instead, we waste billions of dollars as our government creates more enemies for the United States.

America was once touted as a leader for its domestic programs. We now follow behind many industrialized democracies providing healthcare for all its citizens. The quality of the education we provide has fallen dramatically. American consumers continue to be taken advantage of by corporate greed. Government and corporate whistleblowers are not being protected. The rights of workers are methodically being taken away. The elderly who are placed in nursing homes are being forced to empty their life savings, their children’s inheritance and give up the largest asset they own, their home.

Our representatives are living a life of luxury at the expense of many hard working Americans. Most enter into politics to help change the system, yet come out as multi-millionaires. Don’t believe it? Google the assets and worth of many of our representatives. How can anyone believe that any of these representatives can truly relate and design legislation that will truly represent the majority of Americans?

It’s about time these representatives became accountable to the American people, not themselves! I’m sure our founding fathers could never perceive how self-serving and how much power and influence these representatives would amass.

I'll add that in order for any of that to ever occur we need to start self-criticizing our own "team", as everyone proves again and again to be too far compelled to brush off criticisms from the opposition. So if we wont listen to the other team, wont criticize our own team, well that's how we end up where we have been with all the endless problems yet still getting incumbents over 90% of the time every election despite Congress etc etc approvals ratings being absolutely abysmal.

Unfortunately, our government is not accountable to the American people. They only answer to the money interests that get them elected.

Fortunately, this past Presidential election has opened many eyes to that fact. Maybe a couple more like that and we will reach critical mass. As long as we don't allow ourselves to get distracted again by things like race, politics, or war.

All people should be accountable for their actions, including those who riot and those who consider themselves elites. You see more abuse by local officials who run communities around the country than in congress. You can't call everyone rich an elite either, elite is a state of mind where people believe they are entitled to extra privileges.

It's what happens when democracy is Trumped by fascist oligarchian elites that control the banks, Military, industry and energy production, and the plebeians work for them to make them even more money, thus control. Catch 22....

Eruopeans came to America and established a more perfect union to get away from Europes fiefdoms, castles and peasant society.

Just about everywhere you go in Europe there is this antiquated castle on the hill and township surrounding it.

The King stole from the peasants, built huge walls surrounded by moats and protected by armored guards to keep the serfs out.

Nowadays we have gated mansions, electric fences and armored guards to keep the peasants out.

Anybody from either party that is investigated and the accusations are proven should be thrown out of office and stripped of all benefits. (in reference to the harassment accusations)

ETA: as a third party/independent voter I cannot hold these people in one of the big 2 accountable, party line voters need to send the message in the primaries/general election.

They will not though, party is more important to some people.

Once I found out that politicians can legally profit from insider trading on the stock market, when you and I can't and will serve time in prison, I honestly accepted the fact that politicians are criminals and can not be prosecuted for they wrote the laws for they can not . Cool system. Dang good thing I'm not the President. I'd be 1000 times more open to corruption then the current US President. May end up with no one in Congress, but I feel that way already.

The problem is we have Corporate Insiders going into politics to server their cronies and ignore the country.
The majority of politicians in Washington DC are put there via funding by corporations to "help" them out."
When they go in with a few thousand and come out millionaires, it is pretty obvious they are going in to make money for themselves and their cronies and not for this country.

It is the same reason they can nonchalanty send thousands of American soldiers to their deaths to help keep the global markets stable abroad for their corporate benefactors when they should be defending our borders.

Everything is being done to enrich the wealthy globalists while the rest of the country is being dumped on.

Back when we had a growing middle class, all was well and equitable.
With Globalism, there will only be the wealthy and the poor, and historically, that has never in the history of mankind ever worked out well.


Already, we see the wealthy globalists shrouding themselves in global paradises on Islands or lands far away from their polluted factories they helped create so they do not have skin in the game.

Hopefully, China and Russia create unstable global markets and nationalism will come back and the wealthy globalists will come back screaming to their homelands.

That is the game they play.
"I'll work for you" which sounds good during the campaign trail.
The problem is, we should know better that anyone with billions does not make that much money without being required to payback favors.

Exactly. We see it here everyday in the political forums. Attacking each other based upon partisan politics rather than how both these political parties are neglecting the voice of the people! It's ridiculous how some will defend and make excuses for the sake of protecting their affiliated party. No political party is perfect and both cater to the money in politics. What I find outrageous is how Americans fight and defend these political representatives and their party when they continue to pass legislation that increases taxes on the majority of hardworking Americans, while they allow loopholes for corporations to pay nothing to little in taxes. It's crazy how Americans stay silent while the government allows the rich and corporate elite to hide their taxable millions in overseas banks.

These representatives have the best healthcare coverage, above average salaries, best pensions, yet can't pass legislation to provide healthcare for every American citizen! Yet the American citizen will justify being short changed when it comes to our government spending trillions of our tax dollars to provide foreign aid, military expenditures, numerous overseas bases and the ridiculous salaries and benefits for our elected officials.
