Glad you guys are ok. You mentioned hearing shots while you were behind the motel 8 I think? You said they sounded different than the original? What do you think they were...what area did they seem to come from (if you could tell) just interested in who might have been shooting by that point. Also your time stamp is weird! Considering when one thinks they would have evacuated. An error maybe? Also (if not too personal) what was the topic of your conference? Just curious to know what type of events the hotel was hosting that night. Thanks for the story and pics!

Man that's crazy...! Not that it's something to brag about, but you'll have the opportunity to tell your kids and grands that y'all were at the Mandalay Bay when the History Channel talks about the most horrific mass murders in our history...

Glad you both got out of there unharmed.
Take this as your cue to move forward. Statistically speaking, your chances of experiencing something like this ever again are almost zero. As such, you can move on safe in the knowledge that you survived your personal hell.
There is some irony in the fact that people who suffer these events develop terrible fears related to them when they are probably the least likely to witness it again.
Fight the feelings of fear if you get them and remember, you survived.

Good thing you guys weren't there at the concert, my brothers wife would have dragged him there. She likes country. He was present for 9/11 and took the family days to get a hold of him. I still can't fathom in my mind how he was able to cope, and go back there, like nothing happened. Or, he doesn't tell us his feelings. I am pretty sure that nightmare is in drained with smoke in his brain. He's also a vet.

Thanks for your story, and thanks for that map/picture of Mandalay Bay. It dwarfs all other buildings with the pyramid Luxor being second. That fact somewhat neutralizes the explanation offered of echoes for the sounds of the gunshots. Nothing to echo off of.

OMG I Forgot!!!
These 2 glasses! Amazingly these two glasses were with us during that ordeal. I ran back to the statue in front of the Luxor to retrieve them when we left them during a SWAT move. They were with us the entire rest the time though and made it back without a crack!

Looking at the map..
The police and fire dept are directly next door to the south on Las Vegas blv. So that explains such a quick response. However... that Super 8 is way up there to the north. You guys really moved😮
N/M, 1.4 miles NE of MB. Still😮
Still though, glad you and your fiance are alright.
