Apparently, methane is 21 times worse than C02 as a green house gas. I didn't know that!

Then it struck that my production of said gas was solely due to non-meat intake. Beans, bananas, cherry tomatoes, raw broccoli....get the idea?

Now envision the vegetarian/vegan crowd getting their way, saving all animal life with 7 billion souls all off meat. The production of methane would soar. Global warming would massively increase and we'd have a repeat biblical flooding event.

Add in the disagreeable odor- all except mine, of course- and there are sufficient grounds to ban vegetarianism. Charge any who disagree this very enlightened, progressive inspiration. Make meat eating mandatory.

After all, we know what's best for them.....just saying.

Yep I've pointed out this contradiction many times.

I think the best solution is for everyone to stop whining and carry some Lysol to de-funk the dangerous gasses.

Quinoa lentil tofu casserole anyone? Topped with faux melted gouda yum

Are you saying we should switch to cannibalism if we only eat vegetarians?

I think that the animals we eat, "like cows" eat vegetable matter and they produce the methane.

Do the cattle make more gas or the human?
Inquiring minds need to know.

Interesting concept. It would depend on how it was prepared....

The same thought crossed. All that I could come up with is pass it Monsanto and let them GMO flatulence out of the human race...perhaps cows first as a trial run....

While I appreciate the approach, here, I'm going to be the thread downer and remind us all that CO2 can last 100 times longer in the atmosphere than CH4.

CH4 can linger for a bit over a decade; CO2 can remain for over a millennia...apparently. I've seen studies that call that into question, but I'll just go with accepted info for now.

Send it to the French. Their 'chefs' are expert in turning crappy food into a palatable dish.

Cept plant absorb CO2 and convert it into oxygen. I doubt they like methane.

My gas can last for ten years?? I have to forward this to Steven King.....

If you're being serious, can you provide any data to back that up?

I'm curious.

Not really. Not impossible, I suppose. Then again what is....other than a sane human race, that is.

True, but not all of the CO2 gets absorbed

Of course, the more CO2 that's available, the bigger in size and number that flora can grow, and we can all be vegan and expel CH4 to our hearts' content!

Yep. If we could figure out how to pull methane from the atmosphere and collect it. We could use real natural gas as 'the energy source'....

I laughed when I read this.

animals.howstuffworks.com...

Cows emit a massive amount of methane through belching, with a lesser amount through flatulence

You can go to the link,I am just adding this for fun.

In any case, that's a lot of methane, an amount comparable to the pollution produced by a car in a day.

True or not...its a fun read.
