Kind of how that acid attack a few weeks ago was spun into a Muslim thing by ATS members?

It's a sign of the times where we are more concerned about the race, motive and nationality of a gunman, than we are the condition of the victims.

I hope those that are injured recover.

I agree, that is a huge problem. Now if only people in the U.S. would have that same attitude every time a "possible" Muslim killed people.

Agreed...but when an evil & senseless crime is committed, it's only natural that people want to understand why it actually happened.

Nobody is discounting the plight of the victims while seeking motive.

Probably one of the many Tennessee Muslims out there!

Jokes aside, this is whack and almost as cowardly as shooting up a school.

Idiots.

Six replies in and we already have a drive-by take on bagging on 'dem Muslims.

P.S. - it was a white dude

Not according to the article.
www.wsmv.com...

The shooter was a 26-year-old black male from Rutherford County, according to police. The blue SUV he was driving is located next to the church.

Fair enough, my apologies everyone, the source I read had claimed otherwise and looked like a legitimate local article.

Again - my apologies.

It's sad because we live in an identity group world. We aren't individuals anymore. We're pigeonholed by our race, gender, religion, whom we sleep with, etc.

So we distill a perp by all those qualities and then turn on the rest of the identity group and say, "Your group did this to him or her or 'xer' ... should I be worried about you too?"

The dangers of not seeing people as individuals but the sum total of their group identities instead.

That's the best you got? A jab at my name? How original, I haven't heard that one before.

Sorry that I point out hypocrisy when I see it, maybe one day you'll be able to handle different opinions without feeling the need to attack someone personally.

At least you were cautioning people on jumping to conclusions.

We have all read inaccurate sources in these incidents, not a big deal.

In a way, it's the last one that hurts the most.

Does she have have two kids who were dependent on her and now won't see their mother anymore?

F it. I lol'd. It's just getting depressing watch people scramble to blame their respective boogeymen. The fact is, this homicidal asshole shot a bunch of people at a church, killing a mother of two. Nobody — not one of us — sees that as anything but abhorrent.

There's really only two sides to this: that douche bag and the rest of us.

That's the way it should be every time ... but it's not.

You tell me why that is. You tell me why every time some sick F shoots up a crowded venue the first thing we hear about is how guns are evil and we should disarm everyone and how evil the NRA is for thinking differently. Or how this or that person was this or that way, so this or that shooting was caused by X, Y, or Z so we, as a nation, should bear the collective guilt for it.

You tell me why that is instead of just blaming one person - the person who did it.

Mr. Engle went to his vehicle and retrieved his own weapon. That's what stopped the active shooter.

It's not racial until it's racial.

For all we know he simply hated Christians or wanted to shoot people.

It's only racial when the gunman is white.

Unfortunately, that is not the world we live in.
Murders are politicised and stories are spun for political means.
Check the front page of CNN - not a word about this shooting. Can you honestly say that if this had been a white guy who supported Trump, that this would not be their number one story? Do you remember the guy who drove a car into a crowd and killed a woman in Charlottesville? That story was about Trump and the KKK, Nazi's and any other group not in agreement with the mainstream medias politics they could pin it on.
The suspect here is an immigrant from the Sudan. It doesn't fit the BS narrative we hear constantly from the media. The divisions (and propaganda) are real, and it's no surprise that people follow the 'news' that is foisted upon them, whether that is left wing (MSM) or right wing. Sad, but true, unfortunately.
