Now that is weird, the centre of the rectangle shape looks like a medical cross mark, perhaps the rock was subject to a bit of drilling, but that doesn't explain the overall rectangle shape...funny peculiar! nothing to do with SC10 either.
Kinda what I thought too...maybe this is where they keep the first-aid kit?

First aid kit...

Just kidding of course...it is very interesting

Looks like my wireless doorbell.

Get the rover to give it a ring...

Not Mars. That's some lint or other floating debris that fell on the super small scale model that they use for these pictures.

Well this is a conspiracy site right, so why not.

whatever it is it's in a weird position.... to bad the images are over-saturated.
Nice find!

Hey, it could be the Canadian flag! Remember this thread?

ATS, Skunkworks - Are the Mars Rovers actually in Canada?

Which makes the key chain comment make sense! It also makes the Emergency Kit comment make sense too.

ETA: And the Molson can! lol

I'll go out on a VERY small limb and say that it's a Molson Canadian Beer can or towel with the lettering faded away.

Without having read the thread, I found this in the same image, could we be looking at some weird-assed movie set or is this an image artifact and if so does it shed any light on the surveyors reflector on the rock?.........

My first thought?

"First Aid Kit"

ETA: An old fashioned one with a smaller red cross on the front ... something along this line.

Mars looks SO MUCH like Earth.

Im unable to post the results due to anything edited in snapseed being incompatable for reasons unknown, but the shadowed area just below the spot you have circled shows some oddities. I believe the first jpl photo to be manipulated for some reason.

It's a sign with Martian Pictograph. It says,
"Trespassers will be shot.
Survivors will be shot again."

If there's no water out there why does the ground look moist and the air misty?

keep in mind that those pictures were taken with the navigation cams (navcams) so they are black and white pictures because the navcams can`t take color pictures.

There a lot of differences between the navcams and the mast cam so obviously the pictures are going to look different.

My paradoleia kicked in. I see a martian face poking out below the overhanging marked rock. In the shadow.

Are you saying JPL photo shopped a maple leaf onto Mars?

Another Mars anomaly and I apologise if this has been discussed previously but there are so many Mars topics on ATS and a Google search was a thankless task to go through. So here are a couple of pictures from the Mars JPL site.

1. You will see on a rock, at the far right and about halfway up, a white rectangle with some kind of shape on it, which is indistinguishable to me.
JPL Image One

2. Same area only with the camera swung more to the right, the anomaly has moved toward the left-hand side but is still on the same rock and in the same position, also with the shape still on it.
JPL Image Two

It just looks so strangely out of place and stands out like a sore thumb. At first I thought it was an image artifact but the second picture in the sequence appears to rule that out. It almost looks like a piece of card or a thin, flat object, devoid of features apart from the strange thing [hole?] in the middle of it.

Thanks for looking.
Any ideas, anyone?

Take the water out of our ocean. That is what some areas would look like
