Movies are such a powerful medium which, when done well, appeal to various senses simultaneously. Often we get caught up in the visual aspect and the score is simply background music. There are other soundtracks which stand out and in which the music will immediately recall in one's mind a particular scene or emotion from a movie.

There are too many excellent songs from movies for me to remember, so I thought you all could help me, we could help eachother, highlight some of the best tracks ever to grace the screens.

Here are a few songs that, in my estimation, perfectly compliment the imagery and plot of the movies they were created for.

This is not a very well known movie but a masterpiece nonetheless.

Eddie Vedder did the entire 'Into the Wild' soundtrack which is an incredible album. And please ATS don't crucify me over this next one from the Jason Bourne movies.

The film Excalibur used much of Carl Orff's album Carmina Burana as it's soundtrack , O Fortuna has long been a favourite of mine.


The remix of Tom Sawyer for the movie Small Soldiers , great song and remix.


Kurgan's Theme ... Queen's Gimme the Prize from Highlander ... That voice.
