I saw this topic posted in another forum

My mind is blown. Again.

The Fruit of the Loom logo no longer has the cornucopia. It never did.

As a child I always thought "why are the fruits stuffed in a trumpet?"

So I have a memory as a 5-6 year old kid of this logo.

When I went to Design College, I remember discussing subliminal advertising, the horn of the cornucopia on the logo was a subtle phalic symbol.

I sat in class and thought to myself, "Lol, and I thought it was a trumpet!"

I am on my phone and I can't really post a picture.

But I googled it, the cornucopia is no longer there and it never was.

I do remember *a* logo with a horn-looking thing stuffed with fruit, but it wasn't their logo... it was some other company.

Fruit of the loom was always just a pile of fruit.

Lots of logos with cornucopia though...

Whew! Now that I've come back to my senses, I found this nifty little visual timeline:

When I started reading your OP, I kind of agreed with you but I'm really not sure. I'm beginning to wonder if it's the golden color of the leaves in the background (1962 & 1978) that may have given us the impression of a cornucopia?

It seems you are not the only one OP. I quick google search and I find a Reddit and another mentioning the same thing. I couldn't quite remember the cornucopia however once I saw the image with a cornucopia I remember it from somewhere. I just can't verify that it is Fruit of the Loom. I do however recall the above images.

I wish they would still put tags on our underwear. It is hard to put them on in the dark with the little rubberized screenprint when you get up in the morning. If I turn on the light then the wife gets mad, if you don't, then you get them on backwards sometimes and have to switch them around and the swearing wakes the wife and she bitches.

These new age liberal underwear producers are trying to ruin our lives by creating chaos in the family.

No wonder everyone is so riled up nowadays, the missing underwear tag is causing the problem.

Oh come on... no horn now?

It was dusky yellow-gold with a spiral ridge and the point was oriented up and to the left , depending on seeing the label from the front or back, of course... right?

It likely just changed in the 90's or something with an update from a new advertising company they contracted with, but I know 'fer sure ' it had the "horn of plenty" with fruit spilling out... at one time, but certainly in the 70's - 80's.

Next we'll find out there were no Underoos!

If there are no more records of a horn, then it MUST be another clothing company's label we're all conflating with Fruit O' the Loom, though I'm pretty sure it WAS FotL and have tactile, specific memories of a certain shirt from childhood with that label...

hmmm, but now that surety is fading as if a dream while I'm writing this... dumb brain just doing what it does, I guess.

I give up... if mad cow, then it's been nice. If some lab is injecting false memories into the population, then it works, guys, and please stop it.

If reality is breaking ... then oh well, facts were cool while they lasted and at least my drug abuse didn't matter in the long run.

I saw this brought up on another site, I personally just remember the fruit, but tons of others agree with you about the cornucopia.

They had a screenshot from an animated movie called "The Ant Bully" and in it there is a "Fruit of the Loin" rendition. But the icon looks exactly as what you described.

Here's that pic

I did search "Fruit of the Loin" and google was like WTF? Lol. No results in images anywhere near the cornucopia logo.
