Here's a good place to "store" fake news stories that have been admitted to or proven false.

2016 has been a major year for fake MSM stories that were passed off as real, and 2017 is off to a great start !!

We can start with 2 articles that show some fake and manipulated stories.

Lots of these things are extremely clever and are created by professionals, and in many cases are very very convincing.

We can also add some ATS posts that have actually proven fake stories ahead of "official" published debunking as well.

It won't work.

ATS as a whole has to (should), vet all sources as they are presented for all threads by every member.

If we had a sworn committee, subject to law, then maybe.

What's ironic is that a lot of your threads are based off of Breitbart. Breitbart is a prime example of Fake News, therefore your opinion on this matter is sorely biased because according to you, if it's a conservative outlet it's not Fake News but if it's a "liberal" outlet it's automatically Fake News.

You don't care about the truth. You only care about your partisan politics. Without even looking at your list, I'm sure most, if not all, are what conservatives consider Liberal media.

Pathetic.

You're going to have a very full thread, probably break the post record by years end.

You can reduce that somewhat by just providing a link to CNN.

Why do we need to identify and label it as such when we know theres an issue. How about we make it illegal again for intelligence services to disseminate propaganda to is citizens, after all it is our country and our elected officials speak on our behest? That would go a long way to rectifying this situation.

Neither of the two links sourced in the OP are brietbart. Do you deny any of the 12 fake news stories they published?

Let me know if its stuff like this that you would like to see

Newsbud sources have identified Former NATO Commander-Retired US Army General John F. Campbell as the ‘likely’ NBC News’ source in NBC’s scandalous false reporting on the Turkey Coup Attempt during the most critical early hours of the failed coup operation.
www.newsbud.com... I know that Newsbud did attempt to get MSNBC to give a statement but I haven't heard anything more about it eta a vid by NB on the story

What upsets me is the obvious double standard of these mainstream sources.

Neil Cavuto had an excellent monologue at the end of his show today about it.

The mainstream media calls their fake news stories or flat out lies such as the MLK bust story simple mistakes. But if a rightwing source or someone in the Trump administration says something that turns out untrue they are liars that must be rejected.

No media source is perfect. But the fact that the MSM is so anti Trump, and refuses to acknowledge it, and then feigns outrage that Trump doesn't like them is laughable.

A committee you say?
Perhaps we can forge rings of power?
9 to Trumpers who forge their living among the Great plains and the factories of old
7 to leftist who dwell in the coves and bays of the great seas
5 to libertarians the lonely traveling folk
3 to hillary bots, the warrior women whom have many guilds in the major cities

and 1 ring to rule them all!
To the madman himself Alex Jones!...just kidding.
give it to matt damon

Fake News: Media Reports State Dept. ‘Mass Resignation,’ Officials Actually Fired

Today’s Fake News freakout began with a buzzing swarm of headlines about “mass resignations” by the “entire senior level of management officials” at the State Department resigning in some stunning act of protest against President Trump.

Before long, we learned we were talking about four people, and they did not resign, they were fired.

MORE FAKE NEWS: Media Reported Trump ‘Gagged’ Federal Agencies. Nope. He Just Did What Obama Did.

NYT strikes again!

Here’s the lead from the Times:

Scientists and environmentalists reacted with fear this week as the Trump administration purged nearly all mention of climate change programs from the White House and State Department websites and ordered a freeze on federal grant spending at the Environmental Protection Agency and other government agencies. Memos ordered employees of at least four agencies not to send out news releases or to create social media posts, blog entries or official website content, and to consult with senior officials before speaking to the news media.

Other newsites: Wash Po, Tech Crunch and Fortune joined the choir:

Except that if you read down to the fifth paragraph of The New York Times report, you find out that Trump hasn’t done anything unique here:

Longtime employees at three of the agencies — including some career environmental regulators who conceded that they remained worried about what President Trump might do on policy matters — said such orders were not much different from those delivered by the Obama administration as it shifted policies from the departing White House of George W. Bush. They called reactions to the agency memos overblown. On Wednesday, Douglas Ericksen, a spokesman for the E.P.A., said that grants had been only briefly frozen for review, and that they would be restarted by Friday. “I’ve lived through many transitions, and I don’t think this is a story,” said a senior E.P.A. career official who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the news media on the matter. “I don’t think it’s fair to call it a gag order. This is standard practice. And the move with regard to the grants, when a new administration comes in, you run things by them before you update the website.”….It is standard practice for new administrations to make changes to their websites to reflect their different policy positions.
my bold

What what do you call this? Fake News and cya in same article.

I gained a little insight from reading the comments under the article. Apparently, people who didn't vote for Trump feel sympathy for him because of fake stories and believe this will benefit Trump's cause.

So when the lies are exposed people consider the source and the credibility of these perpetrators is going
