JANUARY SHORT STORY CONTEST - "THE SATIRICAL TIME TRAVELLER" [STT2017]


OK, writers of ATS, It's time for our January Short Story Contest!

This time around, our "SCARIEST CHRISTMAS CAROL" contest winner AugustusMasonicus has chosen the theme:

"THE SATIRICAL TIME TRAVELLER"

Writers need to select one person from the past who suddenly winds up in the future and then describe that person's views and/or experiences with a satirical twist.

How you do that is, of course, up to You!

Video and Audio (spoken word) submissions are not acceptable this time around.
Photos and BBcode Editing are.

Rules Of Entry

The contest will run from NOW until Thurs 26th January 2017.
(Any submissions after that date will be disqualified.)

A period of ONE WEEK after the closing of the contest will be provided for voting, and winners will be announced shortly thereafter.

All ATS T&C's Apply.

All entries MUST include [STT2017] in the title.

All entries must be linked in this thread, and please include [writer] or [non-writer] in your submission post within this thread.

There is no minimum or maximum character count, and the entry can be submitted over one or more posts, but please bear in mind that it is a SHORT STORY contest!

1 Single Story Submission is allowed Per Member.

Please conclude your entry with the words "THE END".

There will be 3 winners among members who already have "Writer" status, prizes as follows:

1st Place -- 5 Applause, and selection of the next contest theme!
2nd Place -- 3 Applause
3rd Place -- 1 Applause

There will also be 3 winners from the non-writer category who will receive the following:

1st Place -- 3 Applause & Writer Status
2nd Place -- 2 Applause & Writer Status
3rd Place -- 1 Applause

Scoring

Flags will be worth 2 points each.
Stars will be worth 1 point each.
*Stars for subsequent posts (i.e. additions to the story after the initial story post) will be worth .5 stars.

Gordi - a question on the rules here. It says that video or audio (spoken word) submissions are not acceptable. However, as part of the story, can I use an audio track, or perhaps a YouTube music embed, that supplements the story as an illustration or picture would? In more general terms, I understand that the entry must be written. But can you use additional (alternative) media to supplement the story?
