Italian restaurant under fire for selling 'Black Olives Matter' merchandise

An Italian restaurant in New Mexico is under fire after making merchandise with a slogan that mimics the Black Lives Matters Movement...

Paisano’s owner Rick Camuglia said he emblazoned the phrase on the restaurant's main sign to sell a new recipe: a tuna dish with black olive tapenade...

“People were calling us racist. Saying we were a white supremacist restaurant. Some got really derogatory and just started cursing me out.”

Camuglia also told the station that business is booming.

"People have filled the restaurant and told us to leave up the sign," Camuglia said. "That's great, you know, because a lot of people make a living off working for this restaurant."

It reminds me of this, which I found quite amusing.

When wth they ask me at Chipotle pinto or black I'm always tempted to say all beans matter. But that's just asking for a day ruiner any way you cut it.... And an awesome story.

I LOVE black olives! I could eat a whole container of them for a meal. I've been eating a lot of them this year in the summer salads I make.

I almost always include olives when I put together a tuna mix for sandwiches. I've never heard of tapenade.

I think the sign is humorous and clever and obviously a good move for their business... and the olives are gender neutral. Tee hee!

Now I am craving them.

It's just marketing. I thought America was all about marketing and and making money using every twist possible.

I was once having a conversation with two other people before they were leaving to drive home and one of them said "be careful of black ice." We had just dropped below 29 degrees F at the time(below 0 C)

My mom always used to tell me in the winter when I was driving to "Watch out for black ice". Sounded like she said "Watch out for black guys." . Had to drive home through a rough neighborhood so I got a chuckle out of it...

I made an LGBTQ sandwich.
Lettuce, guacamole, bacon, tomato, and queso.
It was delicious, but a lesbian chick got pissed off because she thought I was poking fun.

Mmmmmm..... Paisano's. If anyone's ever in Albuquerque, I highly recommend it. Delicious.
