I realize that contract amount will be minus engine but that seems extremely low at an average of just US$55.4m per airframe. Not that I would complain about a low price.

All contract amounts currently include engine cost starting with Lot 10. That was the first contract award to include the engine as well as the airframe. Lot 11 will see the list cost of the A model drop to just under $78M an airframe. Each country will pay a different amount though, depending on a lot of different factors.

Heavy maintenance and they dropped it of the jacks.

I'm betting they either bounced it during a gear swing somehow or they jacked it all wrong and weren't looking at the load cell figures before punching at least two of the jacks through the pads. It appears to be a 737 given the spoiler mounts, relative size of the guys head in the second pic and the designation on the tail jack, not to mention the service door near it. Its certainly not a 320.

Fail on my behalf. Could have sworn it was a 738, now I look like as big a d**khead as the guy who was running those jacks. In hindsight the flaps should have been a dead giveaway. Nice closeup pics though. Good to see that LT's hiring standards are consistent in all its overseas facilities. I have seen some awesome screw ups in Manila. Thats going to be quite a fun repair on the wing. Wouldn't want to be the tech services guy having to run with that ball.

Yeah, I was looking at the wing and thanking God it's not my problem. That's going to be a fun one. I'm thinking it's gonna be out of service for a minute.

i saw that as well, and the nice new pressure suit he is wearing compared to the ones the U2 guys fly with today.

i wonder if lockhead/Boeing or the USAF gave them a sneak peak at some of the goodies to help enlistment numbers.

top-gun was the reason i feel in love with aircraft as a kid, well one of them. The movie is just a very very well produced enlistment ad and pitch
