Obama has been busy commuting sentences of convicted criminals and some may be justified in many peoples' views.

But it seems he has a few that involve gun crime convictions !!!

Ironic, and a Senator has found this out and has sent a letter to the Attorney General.

So we have Obama screaming about more gun laws and at the same time, he commutes sentences for existing gun law convictions?

Sen. Shelby: Obama Commuted Sentences of 33 Inmates Convicted of Firearm Violations

Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL) criticized President Obama for commuting the sentences of 33 criminals he said were convicted of firearm-related offenses while pushing for more gun control.

“By my count, the President has commuted the sentences of over 200 of these ‘non-violent’ federal inmates, of which 33 were convicted of firearm-related offenses,” Shelby wrote in a sharply worded March 31 letter to Attorney General Loretta Lynch.

Shelby sent the letter to Lynch a day after Obama commuted the sentences of 61 federal prisoners, bringing the total to 248, more than the last six presidents combined, according to the White House.

Heres a thought Obama?

Stop creating, pushing asinine gun control laws.

That way sentences don't have to be commuted.

"Seven convictions of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime;
"Four convictions of possession of a firearm by a felon; and
"Two convictions of use of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense.”

Well that explains it.

Drug offenders.

Pretty much like when his administration armed drug cartels.

Agreed, Star as usual...

Just to add, at least he's consistent; hooking up the Mexican Cartels was just another Pardon.

Well you know ... it was the gun's fault, not the person's. We all know how evil those scary guns are. They probably just jumped up into those poor, innocent people's hands.

WOW! Those are serious offenses, and exactly the types of offenses that Obama should truly be concerned with if he truly wanted to curb gun related crimes, but what he has done here is make it possible and perhaps even likely that a serious gun related offense will happen again.

"Use of a firearm in the furtherance of any crime" adds a very stiff penalty on top of whatever felony was committed, and for Obama to pardon that is the same as him going on national TV and reading from his prompter:

"My fellow Americans, All my ranting over guns has all been faked by me because I really hope to help crimes with guns happen in the future. See look, I just pardoned some dude who used a gun to help aid him in committing felonies, but I'm letting him off the hook! Ha ha suckers!"

Simply unbelievable. The media should be all over these like flies on Obama. (Except for liberal ones since they support everything good or bad when their own do it.)

Were any of those "commutations" associable with "assault weapons"?

Quite literally speaking, any weapon used to 'assault' someone is an 'assault weapon', no?

Correct, (literally speaking mind you..), to include box trucks apparently.

Maybe he's setting up his post presidential goon squad. Remember all those drug traffickers, bank fraudsters, and terrorist-types that Bill Clinton pardoned or had their sentences commuted. I wonder what they've been up to these last few years.

Good.

Everyone has the right to self defense.

It should never be a crime to carry a firearm on your person.

If no one was harmed, if there was no victim, I support this.

Now we just need to get Obama Inc to stop trying to confiscate everyone else's guns.
