Apparently the people have 'pushed back' the attempted coup. "The people who started this illegally will "pay the price", according to a government official.

It sounds like it is failing at the moment.

Fresh news : Turkish airfighters shot down the rebel turkish airfighters and it looks like the rebels losing the coup. Erdogan gave order to shot down and/or not allow any rebel (aircraft) to land in turkish airports. NTV broadcasts the 3rd general of turkish army...he gives an update.

BBC: A Turkish fighter jet has shot down a helicopter reportedly carrying military elements of the coup.

Fox and Reuters just confirm that a fighter jet just shot down a coup helicopter.

The western media will keep spinning this in favor of Erdogan for some reason. Nothing like media manipulation to win a war or despair those revolting. The people of Turkey should be out helping the rebels, not fighting them!

As i know of Gülen, he is the same ill person as Erdogan, just a bit different.
Can remember people, neighbours saying that on his compound in Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania they are doing paramilitary trainings.

The rebels should take whatever aircraft they have left and attack his location.

I don`t think this is going to work in Turkey...more likely 2 will grow back.

If this coup fails then at least it shows the people of Turkey that resistance against the dictatorship is possible.

I'd expect a Kurdish uprising soon, especially after Erdogan ordered his army to demolish random Kurdish villages with no rebel presence out of his pure genocidal bloodlust.
