You missed the point of the OP. I'm not talking about a hit n run, well, not just. Someone reading your posts finding your trigger. Everyone has one. BOOM. The question still remains.... why?

why? low self esteem,why else would they care about gaining the approval of complete strangers on the internet.

I've learned to just avoid contact with people who can always find a reason to get pissed-off about something and create drama where no drama exists for normal people. It's easy to do on the web, a bit more problematic in family and social situations. They seem to be just looking for the chance to express outrage over something.
My solution is not to engage. I prefer conversation over repeated dramatic protestations.
