Hillary Clinton is considering a running mate who could make a direct appeal to supporters of Bernie Sanders, bridging a generational and political divide, according to four people close to the campaign.

Clinton’s chief requirements include a candidate’s resume and a fighter capable of hand-to-hand combat with Trump. The campaign’s vetting also prioritizes demographics over someone from a key swing state as she seeks to unify the Democratic voting base, said the individuals coordinating with the campaign, who were not authorized to speak on the record about early deliberations.

It sounds to me like the Clinton team is looking for Sanders to be their VP. Now that I understand Sanders supporter's views better, it seems like most of them would consider supporting Clinton to be "selling out." So, how is Clinton going to win them over?

Let's not forget this...

Sanders leaves door open to being Clinton's VP

Anyone who supports Sanders should watch the following video. It exposes him as a total fraud. I realize his supporters don't care about facts per se but come on...

The idea that Bernie isn't establishment is crazy. Being Hillary's veep would be his last chance to get near the White House.

I wonder how the BernieBots will spin this one.

If they even come around.

Some people just choose not to believe the truth. Happens a lot in politics, too bad.

Exactly, the only thing on Bernie's resume is politician.

I seriously doubt Clinton wants Sanders.
I'm still thinking Mark Warner but Elizabeth Warren is looking strong too. Plus she's already on the war path against Trumptard anyway.

Independent politician...until seeking the Democratic nomination due to the mainstream media.
There is a difference.

Maybe to you, but whether you like it or not a career politician is exactly that. A career politician.

You should look into his voting history when senator Clinton also had votes.

They are shockingly similar.

The minute Hillary selects a VP, the Republicans will be guaranteed victory.

If her VP is Bernie, I'm moving to Canada or Australia. She will win with him as a VP choice.

a reply to: LDragonFire Yeah we do, Ive had 20 different screen names over the years due to not being pc. So to answer your question, Berniebots ? Yeah Berniebots. A bot is someone that never once accepts the faults of their favorite candidate only deflects to the faults of another candidate and he has a bunch, they all do. Don't be so sensitive, you aren't a bot are you ? If Bernie says to vote Hillary are you going to do it ? if you do then your a bot, argue all you like. We all read the comments Bernie supporters leave , the world saw you on tv acting like lunatics and you guys need to learn to not call names , hit people, flip people off and stomp away mad .

I always thought a bot was a program used to run simple tasks, on a repetition. Like the bots used in video games to farm, or level up a player.

Although, these definitions add insight into the whole berniebot phenomena.

I stand by it.

Maybe the enlightened Sanders supporters should look into his dealing with corporations during his time as mayor of Burlington.

Not many liberals or Bernie or Hilary supporters left here on ATS.

I'm hoping Hilary gets arrested before she can decide.

If Hillary is forced to drop out due to legal troubles, a Sanders presidency is guaranteed.
