There's about a 12 minute video and audio comm. The video has nothing to do with the audio comm.

I believe this is how the author could 'You Tube' the audio comm. Some of it is fairly obvious and some I don't know the nomenclature. Could someone interpret the portion that refers to 'aspect''?

It sounds WVR with a 'fight's on' and a Fox 2 immediately. Was the Typhoon defeat that quickly or am I misinterpreting it?

The American will say no you are not misinterpreting it
The German/Russian will say yes you are

I would say in air to air combat American is right (it looses a fair bit of speed but)
As a multi role fighter the German/Russian is right (this dude would not even pick up that someone is in the area)

So depends regards aspects I don't know either I think it means it's thrust vectoring is better (engage or escape performance ratios, exchange rates) not ? Ef knows

I may be completely wrong, but I believe "High Aspect" means he above the other fighter and looking down at him. If you listen to a bit before that when he calls "Fox 2" he tells the other pilot he is on his 6 [ behind him ] and 3 miles high, meaning he is above him.

No. It means that the bandit has his nose on you.

I was partial to Flanker but Falcon was fun too.

As with any of these fights, without knowing the goals, setup, and ROE there's no way to tell what would really happen or what actually happened. If this was a fight where the Typhoon began on the defensive, that's totally different from a fight where they start head on and go into the merge.

In the audio it didn't sound like their was any merging or heavy breathing turning. Sounded like the Raptor was already on the Typhoon's 6 high when the foxes started flying. It also didn't sound like the Typhoon knew where the Raptor was till he told him.

One of the scenarios they use a lot starts with one fighter already defensive. The attacker is already in position to shoot, and the defensive fighter has to get away once the fight is on.

Getting away is hard. No matter the machine.

That's why they like that scenario.

Of course. That makes sense. The one point I'd like to get cleared up was the Raptor pilots saying "fight's on and immediately fox 2.

That implies the fight wasn't on prior. If the Typhoon was in the defensive position earlier a
nd there was comm between them before the fight's on comment, then what decides when the fight is on???

Like Zaph said, I think the Typhoon was in a defensive maneuver. Possibly training on what to do when a low observable aircraft just launched a missile from higher up on his 6.
As soon as the fight was on, the simulated missiles were on their way and the Typhoon had to do whatever he did to evade.

It's up to whoever set the scenario up. The aircraft get into position and once both pilots are ready, it's on.
