Oh, that's just what they want you to think...

Southern states watch more gay porn than anybody else...

I am fairly sure that is not everyone and you have people who do not watch porn and are also not gay.

All southerners are gay porn addicts, dammit!

Seriously, though, I'm not trying to debate that idea. I was only pointing out that there certainly is a huge overlap between the people who vote for these religious "freedom" type bills and people who love LGBT porn. These porn sites have a lot of stats on their user base demographics and they did this knowing it would (at least privately) upset quite a few of these people.

Does anyone here so far have any information on what the law is about ? No , I didnt think so . Not even religion oriented . A matter of modesty and morality . Something severely lacking in the porn industry as a given. And becoming scarcer in this country as a whole.

Pitiful anyone would give a feces what the porn sites do....

I do, and I can say that it goes a wee bit beyond modesty. The allows employers to fire somebody for being gay, whereas the Charlotte city ordinance added sexual orientation to the already protected classes like age, race, etc.

So yea, some of us have information on what the law is about.

On a less-humorous take, Deutsche Bank and Paypal are also leaving NC over this idiotic law.

Deutsche Bank halts plan to add 250 jobs in North Carolina after LGBT legislation

Bryan Adam's as well, some tv production's are moving to British Columbia too.

So far we have 2 large performers who have cancelled.

PayPal has withdrawn a 400 job expansion from the state.

More than 100 companies have made statements that they're either putting plans in the state on hold, moving out entirely, or re-structuring to expand in alternative locations.

Several large conferences have cancelled in the last 2 weeks, resulting in the loss of thousands of hotel reservations.

I read last week that travel companies in the US have started recommending people avoid NC this summer, because they expect tourism to be badly hit and businesses to start reducing hours, leaving a lot less to do.

Here is what people really don't get (even though you might, this is for the benefit of all), when a law like this is passed and tourism and business is hit, it has a ripple effect throughout the community.

Those events being cancelled is just the tip of the iceberg. Many other things rely on these events every year. If we've heard about two famous performers cancelling, you can bet there's another 20 smaller bands you and I have never heard of removing NC from their tours. If a couple of big conferences have cancelled and we've heard about it, you can guarantee another 10 smaller events have moved to another state and taken their guests and business with them.

These Hotels hire for their busy periods, meaning that if those busy events are cancelled they won't be needing those staff. Local people will not have that extra work they were planning on having this summer. Likewise, these events require extra security, extra policing, extra traffic control, catering companies, entertainers, travel... none of that is going to be needed now.

A lot of smaller businesses around these hotels also rely on the tourism $'s brought into the state/city for these events.

Further to that mention earlier about tourism being hit and people not coming to NC, this is a self-perpetuating spiral, and it only takes a few months to take hold, one summer of bad business could lead to years of reputation damage.

The public of NC are morons. They think this is only affecting the LGBT people of their state, but they are so terribly wrong and they have no concept of how much money they are going to lose, or how many jobs will likely go. This is not just about the LGBT population of NC, this is going to hurt every single one of them - and all because a minority of religious freaks would rather use offices of government to force people to submit to their bigoted ideas than actually govern their population.

And I do wish these people would stop calling themselves Christian, they're not, they're hateful, ignorant morons using religion as a shield to justify their hateful, ignorant, moronic desperation to control a population.

Thank you for including that in your post. It saddens me that the most anti-Christian people in the US are the ones who are the loudest in terms of claiming Christianity. It's creepy that they think they're so holy and pious when I think even Jesus Christ Himself would be tempted to punch their throats out.

Remember, it's been proven that those who are most homophobic are hiding something.

And yes, that has been proven through scientific study, a fully professional, controlled, scientific study which proved that the more homophobic a man was the more turned on he was by same-sex pornography.

As if we didn't know that already

It's a Jonathan Swift parody; we must be the yahoos.

Get out the popcorn, because this is only the beginning of the creative antics that will make a public spectacle out these stupid laws and the people that support them.

I am certainly not disputing that there are quite a few deviants in the legislature. I think the people who make the most noise are often the ones with the most to hide.

Also why are people so worked up about gay rights. Religious rights are enumerated in the Constitution. Why should they bow to gay rights?

Thay's because "liberty for all" actually means that everyone has a right to be gay AND be free about it.

While I can understand that some people may be upset that some States are making it a requirement that people use the bathroom that matches their birth genitalia, I do not see this issue as important as the many others that plague our country.

I think fixing the corruption in our government would be a good start. I will be the first to join this bandwagon when these same businesses and performers, give the same time, money, commitment, and voice to the homeless, our Veterans, the return of jobs that provide adequate incomes for a quality life, and for supporting families. When they support improving the educational systems for our children and adequate healthcare for all citizens.

We have a lot of problems that need fixing in America. I think we need to get our priorities straight.

This is just my opinion. My little drum drowned out in the midst of the cacophony.
