Speaking of college sports; you know who the highest paid public employee's are at the state level? Coaches. Millions of dollars go to head coaches at the college level.

Ok sure they "could" but they never have so.....

And if you ever see me quoting Fox you will know the world is ending. Shoot me then. Large caliber.

Um...okay?

Yes, they could - and since this election is unprecedented, well - please continue to pay attention. Do you believe me now about the superdelegate thing and the "winner takes all" thing (which only applies to GOP races)????

No I got an academic scholarship and worked and yes it was way less then but so was minimum wage. I did it on $2.25 per hour 4PM til midnight. School was 8 am or so till noon or later depending on classes. And I was a single mother ...

At $2.25/hour I assume that was the early-mid 70's? College was still very affordable back then, it is much less so now.

The article I referred to covered that. Total waste of money for public universities. If a private school wants to piss away their cash by hiring these people, fine, but using taxpayer money to give some jackass a multi-million dollar salary is insane, particularly since the ROI is not there.

Which state college had their budget cut?

I don't know every state, but I know it has been the case in Ohio. For some schools it has been cuts, in others it has simply been spending not keeping up with inflation.

You said 'your school'. Which school was it? Ohio State? Some other college? I am curious to see what and how much was cut and where it was cut from.

We'll never be able to take care of our own by taking money from one sector of society via tax to pay for another. I doubt my dialog will have any positive affect to dissuade those who follow the JUST RAISE TAXES FOR EVERY PROBLEM IN AMERICA, but at least someone else may understand the fact that NEW TAXES AFFECT EVERYONE, NOT JUST THOSE TAXED.

Every business, whether mom & pop candy store, Wal-mart or Wall Street speculators are affected by a NEW TAX.
A NEW TAX means government is taking money away from their bottom line profit. No business entity absorbs a tax without making changes in their business strategy, if they did no one would be in business. ALL taxes affect the cost of doing business, and therefore a business entity will make changes to handle the tax (i.e. raise prices, lower employee wages, reduce quality in products, change in contracts)

Another way of looking at it is when you TAX the rich, IT ALWAYS AFFECTS HOW THE RICH SPEND THEIR MONEY.
Most people are not even aware of the fact that one element of our recession is caused by the fact that the baby boomers (which I'm one of them) make up the majority of the working populace, who are now retiring. That means they are no longer actively spending money like we use to..(i.e. buying cars, homes, toys, vacations etc etc) Therefore it makes the money market stagnant. So is another NEW TAX a solution? HELL NO!

Listen, I'm not trying to be harsh, but these pandering politicians just don't understand economics with their crazy ideas, nor do they have any foresight into how such ideas affect everyone, especially the poor in who they so often shout they are supposedly helping.

It's grandiose thinking in the extreme when someone asserts you can TAX any sector of society without others being affected. Sorry, but our free market does not, nor will it ever work that way. Regardless of how they frame their language, it still boils down to TAKING MONEY FROM SOMEONE WHO'S EARNED IT, AND GIVING IT TO SOMEONE WHO HASN'T.

I use to be a liberal, until I started my own business...LOL

Thanks for contributing your thoughts.
Are you a mega-millionaire? Do you off-shore your employees and your cash?

Like - taking money from the perpetual war machine.....?
Yes, we could.

Maybe not - because intelligent people are only talking about raising taxes on the uber-rich and cheaters who off-shore their businesses and hide their cash

but at least someone else may understand the fact that NEW TAXES AFFECT EVERYONE, NOT JUST THOSE TAXED.

It's taxes. Do you want to pay MORE? Or less?

Vote for Sanders = pay LESS (unless you're a super-rich cheater guy).

What do I think? I think that Washington needs some Preparation H for that "Bern." Ugh. The last thing we need right now is a communist in office, and I'm going by Kennedy era standards. Probably going for Trump, but I'm sure as hell not going to choose Hillary C**ton.

Here's some advice for a form of protest. If you don't want any of the jokers that are up for election, and are concerned as to who your vote counts towards, then simply write yourself in. Since most of us don't have a snowball's chance in hell to get elected unless we aspire to do so, it pretty much nullifies your vote.

I heard something on the radio (Thom Hartman show) today stating that Hillary carries too much baggage and should give all her delegates to Bernie. Of course she won't do this without an indictment, but was interesting to hear this Hartman guy change from Hillary to Bernie.
