Well....after reading about this lake and the fact that when the water level goes up significantly it leads to a huge fish die off. Due to the increased salinity. But once the level is up for a while the salinity goes down...I think it would actually be nice if the water level could be brought up and kept up.

Find it best to look at what nature is doing and how to work along side it to enhance it not destroy it..

i agree...

& i understand we could actually divert a river or 2 up in Far Nth Queensland

instead of (tropical deluges) flowing off the great divide and down to the coast ( with their pesticide and fertilizer loads...)

they could be dammed and sent to the interior and use that water to grow agriculture etc....

ps...ever heard of "man-made mountain"...??? awesome ideas for Australias' betterment...
not the crap politics we now have to endure....
