Celine lost her husband recently. Two days later she also lost an older brother to cancer, as well.

Last Thursday there was an open casket viewing of Rene, her husband, and Friday the official funeral. As famous as her family is, especially in Quebec, the were hundreds lined up to pay tribute to Rene. Celine was expected to only stay for a few minutes but decided to stay and personally greet every single soul who came to the viewing.

This went on hour after hour with the last viewers finishing around 11 P.M.. Celine stayed and consoled them, not the other way around, for hours.

Sorry, I have to say It.

She is a selfish cow.

I at one time in my life (before internet) I thought she was great.
I then realised she uses every camera and media interest in her favour.

Rene u had a lucky escape.

What a rotten thing to say. She is a celebrity. There are always cameras around. It's not her fault.

I think she's a decent woman who truly loved her husband.

My heart goes out to her and her children.

And.....

What else makes her "special"

I've lost a crap ton more than her and never expected to be put in a "special" category.

Canadian or not...what makes her losses more significant than anyone else?

Loss is damn loss....

The people I lost didn't make the damn news....doesn't mean that didn't matter.

The only thing extraordinary about her is her singing ability.

Her loss is NO different than anyone else's loss..

PERIOD!!!!!!

I will

As soon as you can convince me that her loss is more painful than my losses.

Until that happens...I'm not going to feel worse for a damn celebrity death than one I have to experience on my own.

Death is death...pain is pain. Negativity is just part of both.

Nobody is saying her suffering is more profound than anyone else's.

Nobody.

No argument from me on that score. Your losses, and mine, aren't diminished by hers.

The point I was making was the fact that she spent hours greeting complete strangers at the viewing despite her grief. Add in the two day later loss of her brother, she held up well.

Many of fame do not.

The relationship with Rene was not the usual variety. She met him at aged 12 and became involved at age 18 and married a few years later. For her, a fairy tale type situation. Hadn't even kissed another man, per reports.

I've followed her and her interviews over the years and she has an extraordinary relationship with her fans. If you haven't followed her, you probably wouldn't be aware of it.

For example, she sings about love. Love of man, husband and children. She even sings lullabies on stage, in Vegas. No one does that. She's old school moral-wise, yet fully liberated at the same time. She never has a bad word about anyone...ever.

She conducts herself with dignity, class and humility, always. Always has.

That makes her extraordinary in today's music industry and in my books.

hmmm....I haven't seen headlines mourning my losses so....

I beg to differ a bit.... why is she an extraordinary woman as opposed to a "normal" woman that deals with WAY worse scenarios....that's all I'm trying to convey.

Just bc she is famous you are making her experience "exceptional"

That does NOT make her "EXCEPTIONAL"

That is all I was trying to say.

She isn't special bc she dealt with loss in a way the public didn't expect. BECAUSE SHE IS FAMOUS!!!!!!

Your argument is CRAP!

I'm sorry but, it is....

Real Life Loss....That is truly LOSS...You wanna Know Why?

Because MOST people don't give a crap about normal people!

Famous people though....oh, hell yeah....they care then don't they?

At least on the surface...for a short amount of time at least.

I can find no other explanation for such nastiness towards a woman you don't even know.

Celine was what Adele is now.

Both brilliant. (Celine is still brilliant. So is Adele.)
