What do you get out of mocking what others consider sacred at every opportunity?

I live on a hill, so I do not have to go to the mountain to talk with the teacher. I haven't got to talk to god yet, he is always too busy. I think he likes betting on things with Satan.

I think Moses started to climb the mountain in the morning. He got to the burning bush right after dark. He cooked hot dogs and marshmallows on the bush while god was carving the stone.

op is climbing a mounting to speak with a god

that has to do with me because i have to share a damned planet with you loons
i dont plan on converting him/her
that is the difference between you and i
im not going to try telling him the right way forward

I am preparing to climb a mountain, alone, at night.

I have some serious stuff to talk to God about, yes I know you can reach out to God from a parking lot.

But climbing a mountain at night is so much more serious and in your face (God's face)

I am gonna give God a speech like it never received since at least 4000 years ago.

Hopefully God won't tell a bear and mountain lion nearby,

You are going to fall in a hole and find yourself 500 meters underground and you're going to discover a type of semi human, semi monster type of society which venerate a kind of monstrous god that eat the flesh of the living and you're going to survive but no one will believe you.

I have found that desolate isolation alone in Wyoming for me proves the most peaceful soul searching one could experience. In my travels hunting treasure I found a spot that has nobody for miles. The sound of a gentle breeze, an occasional flyby of a bug, watching an eagle ride the currents, and even the occasional moose or elk.

I can spend hours out there, and I forget why I went there, and go home at dusk with the most pleasant calming exaustion that you could ever experience.

If my god was listening, he would hear me smile with contentment.

Why is everybody so concerned with the OPs safety? Humans have been climbing mountains at night for thousands of years. For every person who goes hiking and gets hurt or lost, 10,000 have a great time. For every person who goes to get a pizza for dinner in New York and gets mugged, 10,000 don't. Have you all succumbed to the spirit of fear or our times?

Hope you can hear God over all the sh!t the world throws at you OP.

Just get on a plane.You'll be even closer.

I agree. I have on more than one occasion done this. You dont have to climb Mt. Everest. There are plenty more easier ones. And not all a craggy straight up.

Anyone been on top of Mt.Pisgah at midnight with no moon? It is wayy cool.

But I agree with the poster earlier. The mountain you must climb is within you.

Don't take any water or food and become delirious and you will see god.
