hots have reportedly been fired in a Charlotte mall in the US state of North Carolina - prompting an evacuation, according to reports.

Images of social media illustrate a strong police presence at the mall.

A medic is said to be attending the scene, whilew a SWAT team also is reported to have been dispatched

WBTV reported that there is a patient with a leg injury, one in labor and another suffering with an asthma attack.

Local media is now reporting that one shooter is down and that police are searching for another suspect.

Witnesses reported that they heard about 7 shots from within the mall.

A medic has now confirmed that one person has suffered a leg injury during the incident in the mall.

Northlake Mall is an upscale shopping mall located eight miles (13 km) north of center city Charlotte, North Carolina off of Interstate 77 at exit 18, Harris Blvd, and off of Interstate 485 at exit 21 Harris Blvd and owned by upscale mall company Taubman Centers.
